    When you are paying him to be a 3-5WAR type player yes i do have an issue with it. However like i said before however. The Jays had a way better core and were in position to make a run for another year or 2 (never know what happens in 94). This year V-Mart does not put you over the top. You likely have to had 1-2 more other solid signings to put them over and i don't think the money is there to get 2-3 solid players. I think you have to address your primary need which is 2nd or OF and be smart about your other additions whether that is trades or low risk signings (Chris Denorfia).

    The big difference between 93 and now is that even signing V-mart it still is likely the only thing we are battling for is a wild card spot if that. Not to mention the last season of Molitors contract (95) he had a big drop off in his numbers(except OBP).... So ya i am not willing to give any 36 year old a contract that is longer than 2-3 years. I am a firm believer that you do not over look the later years of a contract to help you now because those are always the contract that hurt you in the long run.

    The v-mart deal was absolutely terrible there is no way that he should have been signed for more than 2 years. It was the right call not to make push on him if it was the case...... Anyone with half a brain could tell you that.

    Now that Devon Travis is a Blue Jay he might as well go on the block. I mean guys the Jays have had so much success with young hitters coming through the organization an i don't think Travis is going to be any different. Offer me a deal to have your chance to have the next Robinson Cano....

    One thing that Devon Travis has going for him is that he was a late round gamble pick of the Lyon Tamers. He sees him as the 2nd baseman of the future and he usually has a good eye for good fantasy prospects........ So there is that.... P.S any one looking to buy high on a stud 2nd baseman prospect???

    I don't get this on the tigers front...... The guy should be in his declining years 36-40 years of age. I had him on a 2 year deal and that would be about it.

    I don't think it is that far off on Rasmus i think i had him pegged at 2 years in Norths little FAP contest someone might gamble and come over the top. CF with pop 1 year off a pretty solid season.... I think you might see some team gamble.
