  1. Mitchell proving worthy of a top 5 selection sure would be great for the Jays! Never draft based on positional need, but if the board lines up with a positional need, bonus!
  2. Great, behind a paywall that isn't even available in Canada...
  3. O/U on this wrapping up by the all-star break? I kid, as their prospect series is incredibly thorough and worth the wait. I just hope the Jays list hits before end of Jan.
  4. Sooooo, anybody still a BP subscriber? They dropped their Jays list today.
  5. A Mets connected person being the only one to share that the Jays are looking to extend their pitcher with control when the Mets have a pitcher with control on the market. HMMMMMM
  6. Can someone post the BPro piece on groshans from yesterday?
  7. Keith Law Put out a midseason top 50. Any Jays besides Bo on there?
  8. anyone have the BP top 50 update?
  9. Anybody want to post Keith Law's new mock?
  10. Because that's definitely a reasonable comparison
  11. Well ya, if heÂ’s bad (like Tebow), he wonÂ’t make a bunch of post rookie contract money. Last yearÂ’s 5th overall draft pick signed for a fully guaranteed 4/$27.2M contract. After that, the big boy money begins. The team possesses a 5th year option of > $20M, Which would be picked up for an average or better QB, if a long term extension hasnÂ’t already been reached.
  12. Also, the A's are really dumb. The fact that this was even a possible outcome made it such a stupid draft pick. Far too much possible downside taking him that high.
  13. If he's drafted top in the NFL, he's looking at a fully guaranteed 4 year deal worth like $25M+. And then if he's even average at QB, he's making $25M+ for the next 3 years guaranteed. Average MLB vs NFL salary isn't really important when you're talking about QBs. Case Keenum made $18M this year, a 30 year old career backup with limited tools who had a nice season last year. I typically side with the MLB > NFL argument, but it's a lot harder to say this when it regards a likely high first round QB.
  14. Sure it does. If a team valued JD at the level of a significant prospect, why wouldn't you claim him?
  15. I could be wrong here, but I think it was just a very poorly worded continuation of the comments on his breaking balls.
  16. Too bad Shi's BA content is also behind the paywall...
  17. Dipoto LOVES Walker, brought him up multiple times in his early interviews with the M's. M's need pitching too, trading him would have to be for a big haul.
  18. A headcase? That seems strong unless your privy to more information than what media has put out there. He was a rushed 21yo who didn't handle failure too well in his first go around. That is common.
  19. "Identifies breaking balls well" "strong understanding of the strike zone" I hope people appreciate how incredible this is for a 20yo guy in Hi-A who, for the first year in his life, is focusing on one sport. SWOON
  20. Can you point out what he's doing that's "wrong" then? Just saying that he's the problem isn't enough. Give all the reasons that he's so "bad" at his job.
  21. I doubt it was intentional on his part, but Norris has created quite the branding power for himself. He could be looking at some great endorsement opportunities in the coming years if he becomes a legit major league SP.
  22. Why does dickey need to feel comfortable with a catcher? All he needs is someone who can catch it. There is no strategy or game calling for a knuckle baller. You just catch it wherever it winds up. Catching it is hard, but if Martin can do it, there's zero need for Thole.
  23. He was still 3 years from being a free agent, just entering first year of arbitration. BIG difference in situations. If I had a choice for the next 5 seasons though, I'd easily take Seager.
