  1. Also had Gibby having a pretty serious looking chat with Donaldson after his homerun.
  2. After our starter was under 100 pitches and just had a dominant inning.
  3. Well that's stupid. Looks like Edwin might have beat it anyway. Dont know what Jose is thinking with his arm out there but still...
  4. If people could just watch the pitcher instead of going off some arbitrary numbers to make decisions we would win this game.
  5. Jesas I am so annoyed. Even by people here who thought taking out Sanchez was a reasonable option. Gibbons cant just use his eyes and see Sanchez is absolutely dealing and still has a lot in the tank? Really ridiculous. What a waste.
  6. Besides in the playoffs when he was effing around with Price, I like Gibbons... but wow does he ever have a hard time leaving in pitchers even when they are looking great. Sanchez did not look like he was slowing down at all. There is not point to this.
  7. I'm convinced on Sanchez. We have ourselves another really nice starter to go along with Stroman.
  8. AA turned the system around twice very quickly. No reason to think he wasn't about to do it again. Will have a few popup prospects this year so if Greene and Alford both produce it will most certainly be middle of the pack by years end.
  9. Yeah I don't think confidence and being a cocky douche are the same. I would never put Stroman's personality in the same category as Pillar.
  10. Yeah, he had that situation and of course when he got sent down for being a douche and not understanding why he'd be pinch hit for. More than that though, as someone who listens to pretty much all the baseball related interviews, it is just pretty easy to tell he is one of those guys who goes beyond confidence and is semi-delusional. Pillar is the only player left on this team now whose personality annoys me (well I guess Bautista too sometimes), but as long as his defense doesn't decline we can all deal with it I suppose.
  11. Whole team is great to watch. Almost would have to think the previous GM did an OK job.
  12. Floyd getting locked in.
  13. Tulo has put up a 900+ OPS 5 times in his career. Can you imagine if everyone else hits similar to 2015 and then Tulo hits like Tulo? Would be just ridiculous.
  14. Being able to put the ball in play (Pillar) might be useful after all our big sluggers/great obp guys get on base. Getting on base (potentially Saunders) before all our big sluggers hit could also be useful. But whatever.
  15. Gibby is not a closed-minded manager, we've seen many examples of this. As much as I hated his guts for how he used Price in the playoffs, overall I think he has done pretty good. I'd be surprised if the higher ups haven't spoken to him about lineup construction. I really think people here might be underestimating how much of an arrogant, cocky diluted Pillar might be. Part of me really thinks that Gibby might know that lineup construction has a very minimal impact, and believes overall the team would benefit from not having to be around a whiny, sulking Pillar who would probably think he deserves to lead off". Yes I agree it is stupid to let this happen just because a player might be a jackass, but I wouldn't be shocked if Gibby realizes Saunders is probably a better hitter and is going with this anyway.
  16. They do matter though because I traded for Saunders in fantasy. But really, just annoying that people are forgetting the potential Saunders has in this lineup and ballpark. He was becoming a really nice hitter and i think 20 HR and a .340 ish obp is not unrealistic. Pillar will need to hit in the .300s to have any hope of providing a reasonable obp.
  17. Why even bother to say it was ever up in the air? I feel like they are just giving it to Pillar because he is a cocky whiner who will pout if it isnt him. Saunders will almost surely get on base more.
  18. Sorry man. Hope for the best for your Dad.
  19. Have heard this before and look into the stats but still disagree. Im even a pretty big Smoak fan but I think Morneau at 1B would only make this team that much more awesome.
  20. Stroman is the best thing that could happen to Sanchez. Feel like the guy just puts positive vibes and talks Sanchez up until Sanchez decided to believe it himself. All this new health kick and swagger is a direct result of being bffs with Stroman. Really believe his whole mentality has been helped to the point he could become a great starter.
  21. Being annoyed at some players and disliking them makes it more fun to watch though. You were probably extra happy when McGuire beat Sosa because you hated the way Sosa acted.
  22. People that don't like when players show emotion or their personalities during the game confound me. This is not to mention just how stupid it is to act like things like this never used to happen. Didn't Babe Ruth, one of the most revered players of all time, point and call his homeruns? That's gotta be cockyness / showboating to the extreme and you never hear old guys bashing that.
  23. Eyeroll. Pillar Donaldson Bautista EE Tulowitzky Martin Collabelo/Smoak Saunders Travis I think it is worth it. Not to mention he built up the farm system twice while he was here in about two years each, so we'd probably be fine again in a year. Nobody even paid attention to Greene until AA traded some others away and started personally pumping his tires. *This is not a message to show displeasure about Shapiro or Atkins. This team is probably the most fun team to watch in baseball and it was built by AA. Plus he left Guerrero to so that's 3, not 2
  24. Absolutely ridiculous to take that lineup and throw EE and Travis into it. It probably won't happen, but my goodness if they are ever all healthy at the same time! There would be no stopping us really.
  25. It is a bit of a save that he didn't bash walking and just said it not an easy skill to develop. He was a valuable player for our team last year. He just reminds me too much attitude wise of the dumb cocky players we've had recently. It isnt from this comment that I am getting how hard headed he is. Nevertheless, he shouldn't be the leadoff hitter.
