  1. Would have been a pretty good trade for both teams. Boxy would have committed himself to Crawford something he seems more comfortable doing than anyone else and RealMin would have gotten the better player.
  2. Maybe Gibby just wanted Revere to feel like he was contributing in some way. I don't hate the move for that reason even though it makes zero sense strategically.
  3. AA seems to handle contract negotiations well. I'd say that's more his strength than farm building which is really more Andrew Tinnish's domain.
  4. I think a lot of people are interested but since you value him at least highly as any of us, it's kind of a moot point.
  5. I did do excatly that actually but then LTR had to slag the Jays marketing department, the very same one that produced much of the content that's in here. It seemed only fair to make a correction. I'm not criticizing the video or it's maker. I'm criticizing LTR for saying something stupid.
  6. Well to be fair a lot of the content he is using was put together by that marketing dept. Don't get me wrong, it's a good clip but like I said earlier, it's more a mashup than an original production.
  7. How would you feel if one of those pitches from the Royals had put Donaldson on the shelf for the rest of the season and the Jays ended up missing the playoffs? That's how the Madlock slide felt to us old guys. I'm just sorry but nothing that's happened since matches the awfulessness of that "bad ending". Tony Fernandez was the heart and soul of the Jays and that collapse was soul crushing.
  8. This is obviously a Vimeo URL. I could understand the concern if there was random ponctuation of if it was a URL shortener but you can easily see from the URL what it is and the video itself is actually a pretty effective mashup.
  9. Sorry to be cliché but the goal is to win one game at a time. You play your best baseball, you let the rest sort itself out.
  10. I would love to catch some live gamelan in Bali.
  11. I find beards overrated generally but it's definitely an improvement for AA.
  12. Louvres cuts off roughly 17th century IIRC, maybe even earlier.
  13. Picasso Museum in Paris is one of my all time favourites.
  14. Anyone mention the ROM yet? It's pretty impressive.
  15. Goins doesn't really make a worse 4th OF than Cola and Cola has options. Swap Thole for Cola and the bench isn't really all that worse short term. Cola is a lot less useful than the team seems to think he is.
  16. You put a claim on Shields. You offer them prospects in exchange for salary relief. If they balk at that you wait to see if they pull Shields back. Worst case scenario you get Shields for only money on a deal that's not that long.
  17. Meh. If I was the umpire judging the situation in real time, I probably would have tossed him. Everyone was expecting this and it was pretty easy to believe it was intentional even if I might have just been a coincidence. This isn't the real issue imo. The issue is everything the Royals got away with up to this point.
  18. Good question. I feel like they SHOULD be able to but that's a labour question really.
  19. Some umpires might just eject anyone accidental or not but this umpire did not.
  20. Agreed. While they might not throw him under the bus publicly, I hope to hell they let him know what a s***** job he did privately.
  21. As soon as the umpired tossed him it retroacticely became a clear intent situation regardless of what our own interpretation might be.
  22. Ball was very far inside. I don't think it's crazy to think that Sanchez intentionally intended to plunk him in the butt and missed the location a little.
  23. Yes but your beef is with the umpire not with the league. The league isn't going to re-interpret who threw intentionally and who didn't. They are tied to the interpretation of the umpire. They did exactly what they everyone should have expected them to do.
  24. Roy Halladay? Phillies bandwagon too small for you?
