  1. Why would ATL = 2 wins?
  2. 1-2 against TB 3-1 against BAL 1-1 against ATL So I see a 5-4 homestand, which at this point just isnt good enough
  3. The biggest worry is why has Rasmus not been able to take the next step like the Jays predicted when he was aquired. Heck can we even get him to perform like he did in 2011 with STL? What has happened to Lawrie? He came up and basically sprayed the ball all over the field and showed amazing pitch recognition. Now he swings at basically anything and doesnt drive the ball the other way with the same authority he used too. How did Romero go from good starter to total after thought with little chance to have MLB career going forward? Why did Kelly Johnson suck so bad with us but is playing so well with the Rays? Why was ARZ able to get Hill fixed and right so quickly after being aquired? Theres something seriouly wrong with this teams coaching and ability to develop players.
  4. This organization has a massive issue with developing not only prospects but big league players also. I mentioned a few days ago but its like a tier system. You have Best case scenario - Middle ground - Worst case scenario Good organizations like NY, TB, STL etc bring is all types of players and more often then not they get at least middle ground and quite often best case scenario. The Jays bring in players/prospects and most often get middle ground and very regularly worst case scenario. There is something vastly wrong systemically with how we teach the game and how we develop our prospects. We just employed a hitting coach the past few seasons who blatantly came out and said he thinks OBP is useless. We continually make boneheaded mistakes game in game out, we have players with undeserved ego's and our pitching routinely gets injured. The losing is tough but what bothers me most is how this team plays and is constructed. We actually dont even look like a baseball team moreso just a team filled with a bunch of athletes and egomaniacs. The roster is filled with guys who are either flat out dumb (Lawrie, Davis, Lind), arrogant (JPA, Bautista, Lawrie) or guys who look like they dont even give a damn (Rasmus, Lind). This might be passable if you had a great player who was a fantastic lead dog and leader but we dont. The Jays have basically set up a organization thats similar to a workplace where you can show up late, jerkoff during workhours, do a underwhelming job and there will be no punishment and you might even get a promotion or raise. There is no culture whatsoever of being a pro or expectation of excellance and working hard everyday. AA looks like the type who might be decent being a assistant GM but not someone you want running the franchise and making the big decisions. Quite honestly until things change higher up this team is going to continue to struggle. The fact that we are in "win now" mode and are running a catcher out everyday that is arguably the worst defensive catcher in the league says all you need to know about this organizations flawed approach.
  5. Bautista is a joke. This guy is nowhere close to a "leader" Just a selfish all for his own good type
  6. Hilarious they have a segment with Zaun, Gibbons and Hayhurst and theres not one single mention about JP's abilities to pitch frame. Hmmm I wonder why.
  7. Yep its becoming very clear that this organization cares more about marketing then actually winning baseball games.
  8. We employed a hitting coach who said OBP is useless. Enough said.
  9. It's not suprising when we have prolly the dumbest FO in the division. Even BALT has surpassed us imo.
  10. It's funny. It's almost like you have a tier system. Best case scenario-Middle ground-Worst case scenario Teams like NY and TB more often then not get at least middle ground to best case with all there players. They bring in junk scrub players and they perform. They bring up nothing prospects from the minors and they peform. Toronto seems to get middle ground to worst case scenario with all there players. We bring in talented players but almost always have them massivley underperform there talent level.
  11. The contrast in cultures between these two teams is laughable. Toronto is losing but you have Jose Reyes and Bonificacio acting like goofs in the dugout making silly faces and laughing it up. NY is winning and Jeter is on the railing serious as can be. This offense is fools gold. They will go on hot streaks and put up 10 runs but then get totally shut down by good teams and good pitching far too often. Jays are akin to a fastbreak jump shooting basketball team. Can run and jack up a bunch of 3's but have absolutely no inside game and are extremely inefficient. When we play these teams like NY and BOS its clear as day that theyre just a much smarter and more effectively run organization. Its like your playing a game of chess and these teams are always one move ahead of us.
  12. Yep they are playing much better but I want to see how they fare against Kuroda and Sabathia in New York. This next stretch is important with 3 series against division opponents (NY, TB and BALT).
  13. Huh? Rogers Center IS TINY!
  14. Can Morrow even do healthy and good in the same season?
  15. Morrow is so friggin fragile
  16. Murphy is a dinosaur. I posted a quote yesterday that has him straight up say OBP is overrated. This organization employed a guy who's statement prolly goes directly against what both the Yankees and Red Sox believe in. Then they decide hes not good enough for the job, but instead of let him go which most normal functioning organizations would do, they feel the need to keep him on in such a meaningless role? I think it was Hurl that was saying sometime last season that theres lots of voices outside of AA's behind the scenes that really shouldnt be talking (Cito).
  17. Yep its retarded. You bring in Motolla because you believe hes either a.) a better hitting coach then Murphy or b.) hes more suited to the style you want to play. Keeping Murphy around is just too weird and I'm sure guys who had success under him still consult him for his advice. So you could potentially have CM relaying one general message and then a few players going behind his back to secretely talk to Murphy. I mean they have the guy as a 1B coach which could be filled by just about anyone in the game of baseball. Reeks badly of AA not having the stones to fire the guy for whatever reason.
  18. Lawrie has a boatload of talent but really needs to get on some OCD meds. The constant hitch and circling of the bat pre pitcher windup is really hindering his ability to catch up to fastballs it seems.

Holy s*** Getzlaf's receeding hairline is worse then ever
  20. Thats all on the premise that Lawrie is actually responsive to teaching.
  21. Yep I can definitely see a trade where we basically deal off basically everything minus Sanchez (Gose, Osuna, DJ Davis, Smoral, Nolin etc etc). I also wonder how much more payroll ownership would allow AA to spend. Not saying we necessarily have the pieces but a trade of like Utley/Lee or similar players for our remaining prospects would be in the realm of what AA will prolly do.
  22. And where does JP rank overall defensively on fangraphs?
