Joel Carreno is prolly a better reliever at this point.

That doesnt mean much. Its almost like dating a girl whos a 3, dumping her to date a 5. JP might have improved but its still nowhere near acceptable when you factor in he's no good offensively.

Ahh no JP is a HORRIBLE defensive catcher. Even his biggest fan Greg Zaun has started to call him out on it because he could take no more biased defending of the guy. Middle of the pack pitch framing wise?

AJ Jiminez is playing well again. Wonder if they move him up to AA pretty soon. Premote him to AAA next season and maybe we see him in the majors mid year.

Management has no more excuses on JPA. They were basically living on the premise that JP had some untapped offensive ability and he could be a stud in this regard. After his hot start hes back to being a brutal player who cant take a walk and always K's and to top it off hes arguably the worst defender at his position in the league. The sooner they cut ties with this guy or even massively reduce his playing time the sooner we become a really good team.

I've seen worse He's been bad but hes still sporting a .342 OBP before today

I agree. The goal should be back at .500 by the 80 game mark. Then go 50-30 over the last 80 and you'll hit the 90 win mark and be right there.

I just saw that Jiminez is back playing and doing well (small sample size) .375 avg, OPS over 1.037 I wonder if he could finish the year at AAA. Considering his age I dont think its far fetched we could see him in the majors at some point next season.

This organization is fundamentally flawed. They almost disregard the hit tool and seem obsessed with "power" and "speed". We have a catcher who they have given the reigns to going forward who cant even man the position properly. Until some of these things change, I really dont think it matters who we aquire because playing a inefficient type of baseball just isnt built for constant success.

It's definitely the condescending tone, added with the fact he argues just for the sake of arguing. One week he'll be using one side of a argument, then the next he will flip over and take the opposite side just because it fits into his agenda.

Or it could be that the bad habits that this team has had the past few seasons just arent fixed in such short time periods. I also imagine a guy like Lind is paying more attention to what CM is selling then Jose or EE.

I dont even understand why they kept Murphy around. By hiring Motolla you're basically saying you think hes a better hitting coach then Murphy and even to some extent like his hitting philosophy more. It really makes no sense to keep this guy around and have him potentially speaking to some players and fogging the overall message. I mean they have him coaching 1B and thats the easiest job in the sport. Was AA too much of a wuss to just let Murphy go because it would upset Cito? Seems like the case.

They need to go further then that. Even if you deal those 2 guys for specs look at how bad next years rotation is going to be (with the assumption Johnson gets traded or bolts thru free agency). Dickey - One year older and is he even a legit frontline pitcher in this division and ballpark? Morrow - Although uber talented really doesnt do both healthy and good in the same season. Ricky - Basically a write off at this point and most likely gets sent to another team who thinks they can fix him. Happ - Serviceable but nothing more then a #4-5 at this point Hutchison - Intriging but coming off TJ surgery and who knows how we will perform next season Drabek - 2 TJ's with massive control issues....hes basically a lost cause at this point AA needs to make a decision this season to go further all in and trade whats left of our farm or go the other direction and trade vets like Bautista, Dickey, Buerhle, Oliver and possibly even Janssen and rebuild again. This season looks bad, but next season could actually be worse without some impactfull additions because this roster is ageing fast and the rotation looks brutal going forward as currently constructed.
