  1. I guess Gibby figures whatever defensive value they lose by having him play 3B is offset by the offensive value of having Morales in the lineup over Ngoepe.
  2. I'd move Granderson to the 1 spot against RHP for the time being. Let Travis prove himself lower in the order.
  3. Tough to make 6 BB work... unless you're Randy Johnson. Then you can give up 8 hits, including a HR, and 6 walks over 7 IP and only give up a single run: Date Team Opp GS W L SV HLD IP TBF H R ER HR BB SO 1998-09-23 HOU @STL 1 1 0 0 7.0 33 8 1 1 1 6 8
  4. Granderson Donaldson Smoak Morales Grichuk Travis Martin Pillar Diaz
  5. What a spoiled twat. I only lasted 1 minute, too much cringe.
  6. Teams outperform or under-perform their projections by 10-15 wins all the time. This team is easily capable of winning 90+ games if they catch some breaks such as core players staying healthy and some luck in 1 run games. Its obviously not super likely to happen but its probably equally as likely, or more likely than, them losing 90+ games this year.
  7. Triple for Alford, single for Bichette and its 6-1
  8. If only they could get rid of Barker too...
  9. Oh's deal is $1.75 million in 2018, with a $2.5-million club option for 2019 (with a $250,000 buyout) that will automatically vest if Oh makes 70 appearances. Makes this deal even better.
  10. I assume hes responding from this excerpt from a Heyman article today: "Josh Donaldson is believed to be seeking a monster payday, according to friends, and while he may not hit his goal (some think he may be shooting too high), he benefits from Manny Machado’s move to shortstop since he’d become the top third base option if Machado stays at shortstop as a free agent."
  11. I interpret this as they are willing to commit to a longer term deal but only if JD is willing to accept a lower AAV. Something like 5-6 years with a total commitment of $105-125 million. Seems to me that JD is looking for a lot more money than this and will test the open market next year.
  12. Solid start to this guy's BJMB career.
  13. It would be really nice to get a good start from Estrada here. Hopefully he can rebuild some value before the trade deadline.
  14. Actually you're the one derailing the thread here. Good on Grilli to go out in a positive way. Loved how pumped he got after striking out the last guy of an inning.
  15. Too early to know. If they are close to contention there's no chance they will trade JD at the deadline.
  16. What were Gibby and Bannister cracking up about? I had the TV muted..
  17. Haha solid Fresh Prince reference
  18. Did Pat Tabler write this scouting report?
  19. I dunno, I've never met the guy but Bill Burr seems like a pretty good dude.
  20. Hard to tell but I don't think nextyear is a millennial.
