  1. Maybe the Jays excel program crashed and they lost all their position player scouting reports. lol
  2. Daniel Lietz, LHP 6'02" 200lbs DOB: 06/01/94After going undrafted out of high school last year, Lietz jumped onto Draft boards this spring when he showed a sharp increase in fastball velocity. His fastball mostly sat in the mid-80s a year ago, but after spending a winter in the weight room, Leitz throws in the upper-80s to low-90s. He is listed at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds and scouts think he may have room to get even stronger. Lietz also throws a slider, changeup, splitter and curveball. His slider and changeup both have the potential to be Major League-average offerings. Lietz isn't afraid to pitch to contact with his fastball and has a good feel for pitching.
  3. Draft Willie Calhoun at some point and I won't hate you Brian Parker.
  4. If it works it's brilliant, but if it doesn't it will look incredibly stupid. I guess that's the nature of the biz. So instead of coming out of the draft with 5-6 big name guys and a bunch of non-prospect seniors. You could sign 7-8 lesser-known high upside guys, but at least 6 of which may not pan out because of injury.
  5. I think I'm seeing the strategy here. They're not going the college senior route this year. They're over-drafting high upside arms who will sign for slot or less because of health concerns, rather than saving up bonus space by punting rounds 4-10 and using it to sign 2 big names.
  6. You called it. Nice.
  7. Toronto takes Evan Smith.
  8. Bostontakes Myles Smith. Holy crap, they're having a good draft. That's how a good organization drafts AA. Geez.
  9. Probably this guy. lol Christian Jones, lhp, Oregon. In terms of stuff, Jones has flashed high level upside. But he's still working his way back from last year's Tommy John surgery and he hasn't been able to use the same high level stuff he showed before the injury. He has as much upside as anyone in the state, but right now there's a whole lot of uncertainty about if and when he'll regain the electric stuff he showed prior to the injury.
  10. If we were trying to save money I would have rather drafted a college player than a boom/bust injured high schooler. I would gladly have taken Jared King, Ryon Healy, or Myles Smith over Murphy.
  11. Look at the well run organizations and see who they're drafting. Demeritte and Healy, to Texas. Unroe, Stanek, and Milone to the Rays. Denney, Ball, Stanky to the Red Sox.
  12. Rays get Unroe and now Milone? I'm gonna rage!!!
  13. Injured players are the new market inefficiency. lol
  14. Nice sleeper pick by Tigers on the pitcher Thompson.
  15. Anyone else starting to really dislike Brian Parker's strategy?
  16. Stupid Mariners. There goes Tyler O'Neill. Hey Brian Parker there are position players in this draft too!
  17. Never heard of this guy.
  18. There goes Denney to Boston. Gordie gonna rage.
  19. Miami takes ss Ben Deluzio.
  20. Dace Kime to Cleveland rhp, Louisville.
  21. Argh...Minnesota take catcher Stuart Turner. I wanted him in the 4th or 5th.
  22. Colorado drafts college lefty Sam Moll.
  23. Mets pick Ivan Wilson (what is up with this broadcast. get it together mlb!)
