  1. We moved up one spot to 7th tonight 1. Houston .336 2. Miami .377 3. Chicago W .420 4. Chicago C .424 5. Minnesota .438 6. Milwaukee .443 7. Toronto .444 8. San Francisco .447 9. Los Angeles A .454 10. New York M .454 11. Toronto (Comp)
  2. If I remember correctly we had reached 5th place last year in August as well, only to go on a slight run to put us in 9th (10th because of Pitts comp pick). Clint Frazier...
  3. Keith Law discusses the 2014 draft in his latest podcast. http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=9606103
  4. He's now 3-3 with that triple and rbi. Rowdy baby!
  5. Updated tank standings. We've fallen from 6th to 8th. 1. Houston .338 2. Miami .380 3. Chicago W .415 4. Chicago C .423 5. Milwaukee .438 6. Minnesota .442 7. San Francisco .443 8. Toronto .447 9. Los Angeles A .450 10. New York M .450 11. Toronto (Comp)
  6. If one were to go that route you're probably looking at Turner and either Nick Gordon or Ti'quan Forbes. The good thing about drafting Turner would be that he could play second until Reyes contract expires since we have a need there too.
  7. Thanks. Labourt has really made good strides this year. A bargain for the 350k we paid him as an IFA. 2-2 1.72era 47ip 32h 13bb 43so
  8. I really liked Wasilewski and Borucki when we drafted them. I had them both in my top 10 high school lefties in the draft that year. I was pleasantly surprised when Waz only signed for 100k, even given his injury that year. At his best he's a lefty with low 90s velocity and a very sharp curve. He has to continue to make strides with his command, but he's definitely a sleeper for me.
  9. My list would be as follows 1) Aaron Sanchez 2) Daniel Norris 3) Marcus Stroman 4) Roberto Osuna 5) Sean Nolin 6) Mitch Nay 7) Franklin Baretto 8) Dawel Lugo 9) Alberto Tirado 10) DJ Davis 11) Matt Smoral 12) Jairo Labourt 13) Richard Urena 14) AJ Jimenez 15) Andy Burns 16) Zak Wasilewski 17) Clinton Hollon 18) Dwight Smith, Jr. 19) Emilio Guerrero 20) Tom Robson HM: Matt Dean, Dalton Pompey, Shane Opitz, Ryan Borucki, Anthony Alford, Alejandro Solarte, Miguel Castro, Chase Dejong, Adonis Cardona, Christian Lopes, Santiago Nessy, Michael Crouse, John Stilson, Matt Boyd, Rolando Segovia, Deiferson Baretto.
  10. Thankfully for the tank the Angels and Giants are both winning. 1. Houston .336 2. Miami .383 3. Chicago W .409 4. Chicago C .422 5. Milwaukee .438 6. Minnesota .442 7. Toronto .443 8. San Francisco .446 (SF 1 PIT 0 8th) 9. Los Angeles A .450 (LAA 7 SEA 1 8th) 10. San Diego .450 (SD 0 CHC 0 8th) 11. Toronto (Comp)
  11. Norris with a solid game today 4ip 3h 1er 1bb 4so
  12. If we can hang on for the "reverse win" we would move into sole possession of 5th place. (Milwaukee is currently leading Cinci 3-1 in the 9th)
  13. Reminds me of my college days...oh wait.
  14. Check out this effortless throwing motion to 2nd base. PG record 91mph to 2nd with a 1.73 pop time! Major League average is 2.0.
  15. All I want for the rest of the season is to see the young guys play (Pillar, Nolin, Gose, Stroman, Jimenez, Stilson), watch guys like Edwin, Lawrie, Bautista, etc. finish strong, and get a high pick and thus a larger bonus pool/better prospect.
  16. I know it's almost unthinkable but if AA was smart he would go full-tank mode. Why go half way? Rodon is what this team needs right now, and won't cost millions plus term, or prospects. He would make an immediate impact and fill our biggest need (a top-of-the-rotation starter).
  17. I know. We have a chance at Beede, Kolek, Jackson, Gatewood, Cederoth. It would almost make up for this horrible year (at least for me).
  18. We're tied for 5th place! Tyler Kolek baby! 1. Houston .336 - Carlos Rodon 2. Miami .383 - Trea Turner 3. Chicago W .409 - Michael Cederoth 4. Chicago C .422 - Tyler Beede 5. Toronto .438 - Tyler Kolek 6. Milwaukee .438 - Alex Jackson 7. San Francisco .438 - Jacob Gatewood 8. Los Angeles A .441 - Jeff Hoffman 9. Minnesota .445 - Michael Gettys 10. San Diego .453 - Nick Gordon 11. Toronto (Comp) - Derek Hill
  19. GCL played earlier today Urena 1-3 with a bb Smoral with by far his best performance as a pro 4ip 2h 0r 0bb 5so (4-1 gb/fo) Brentz 1ip 0h 0r 1bb 1so Solarte 1ip 0h 0r 0bb 2so Smith 1ip 1h 0r 0bb 1so Good pitching performances all around.
  20. Jackson would be bananas. 14hr this year as a high school junior. 6 for 9 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a triple at last years Area Code games. *91mph from home to second, 1.73pop time. Commence drooling. I'm a little more bearish on Gatewood than I was before, and Morgan doesn't look like an early first-rounder at this point. Hill or Toussaint would be nice though.
  21. If we can continue to move up and we can't get Rodon I want either Cederoth or this guy. Check out the velocity bro!
