  1. Fair enough. I'm an optimist with bias. I can acknowledge that. Steamer had him with a .777 OPS coming into the season. I think he's an .850+ OPS bat. Maybe he's an .800 to .850 OPS type bat. In a couple years we'll find out. Regardless, he was a pretty great steal for a couple months of liriano.
  2. Projections are a lagging indicator. Vlad is outperforming the projections he had coming into this year by a mile. Teoscar's xwoba is .382. He's hit 32% line drives this year. Teoscar has a lot of swing and miss, but when he hits it he hits it hard. His contact rates both in and out of the zone are up quite a bit his year, so he's swinging and missing less. When you hit the ball as hard as Teoscar does and you have elite sprint speed you're going to have a high babip even if it does come down a bit. His walk could go up a bit too. His strike out rate is 22% this year and league average is 24% this year. You can trade him all you want. I'll take the other side and stick with the mirage. I think there's been meaningful improvement in his game and approach.
  3. He's put 1.2 in 31 games this year. He put up a .939 OPS in the 2nd half of 2019. He put up a .919 OPS last year. He's put up an .895 OPS this year. He's been a .900 OPS bat for a while now. His average exit velocity is elite and his plate discipline has been getting better as time has gone on.
  4. Well he's put 2.7 wins in the last 81 games. I believe in the bat.
  5. Teoscar....He's a 5 win player, but maybe isn't used to being that guy himself yet. The sooner you get a deal done the cheaper it is. You might get his free agent years for 3 and 50ish. I'd do that for sure.
  6. Biggio and Bo are arb 2 in 2024. Vlad is arb 3 because he was super 2. In 2025 Biggio and bo are arb 3 and Vlad is arb 4. We control them until 2025.
  7. It's the bottom of the lineup. My god Montoyo. If we need Romano tomorrow and he's unavailable I'm going to pissed.
  8. I feel like Montoyo lost his manager for dummies book and is just going with his gut now.
  9. Tellez has an average exit velocity of 94.1. His hard hit percentage is 52.2%(39% is league average). He needs to take more walks. The walk tonight was encouraging. It's almost incomprehensible that he only has 2 homers. It's a lot of bad luck. He's going to elevate some balls and hit them out. His strike out rate is 22%, which is not bad at all considering his numbers. His at bats have been sporadic, which is tough for any player. Some people have completely given up on the big guy, without digging in. He's had crap luck. A couple dingers and some confidence and he could get on a hot streak.
  10. Yes, he just got a hit. Your post was way off..lol.
  11. Rowdy took a walk hit a weak grounder and hit a fly ball that was 105.9 off the bat and went 378 feet. He just barely got under it. This is usually the type of thing you say after a guy has struck out two of 3 at bats.
  12. I just checked in on the Mets boxscore. I thought our injuries were bad. They have Villar leading off and Brandon Drury is batting 3rd for them.
  13. Teo came into tonight with a .903 OPS. He seems like a ho hum player because he bats next to Vlad!
  14. Vladitto....Bo did his job...he got on so Vlad could drive him in!
  15. He's not going anywhere. There just has to be an honest conversation. So when we were up one run with the bases loaded you brought in Bergen instead of Romano. Romano has reverse splits and Lefties have a .463 OPS against Romano for his career. Why did you do that? Charlie just needs to learn from his mistakes. This is all we can hope for. They aren't getting rid of him. You learn more in failure than you do in success. There was a lot of learning to be done this past weekend! Hopefully we benefit the rest of the season from this crappy weekend. There, that's my silver lining..lol.
  16. Jose Fernandez and Chris Sale were both brought up early. If you're special, you're special. Hopefully Manoah is special. I'm glad we're getting the opportunity to find out.
  17. You're right. Not using Romano to get the final out yesterday, and Romano to pitch the 10th were much bigger reasons we lost.
  18. Finally a decision that I can get behind! I thought Strip looked great today. He clearly made some adjustments as Joe pointed out. Hopefully he can string together some decent starts like today. It's a shame we wasted his effort today.
  19. Ken Rosenthal said Manoah starts Wednesday. So there's that.
