  1. The whole basis of my post was that BTS said this is a .500 team. He meant it in a negative light due to the optimism that was starting to creep in with some after the team won 3 straight games. I spun it around to say BTS had them as a 78 win team and now sees them in a more positive light...man things really are turning around, even BTS is getting more optimistic! Clearly he isn't. I was basically poking fun at BTS saying he was turning into an optimist like me, which clearly is not the case. If I could step in the hot tub time machine and go back 5 hours, I would not make the post, because sometimes the context of your words are difficult to get across on an internet message board. whatever...Go Jays Go!!!!!!!!!
  2. 78-84 You'd have to play 6 more games and have a 6 game winning streak to reach .500 no?
  3. 38....ready to be put out to pasture.
  4. You're right I am old, and I did type Sanchez when I meant Santos. f*** me getting old is tough! You young bucks wait until you have a nagging wife yelling at you in the background as you try and type messages. Mental brain farts are bound to happen. I won't even edit the post so everyone can see what a dumb dumb I was. You caught me..lol...and I love Oscar!
  5. I think Lawrie second Francisco third would still make more sense. Without getting into the offender defense discussion when you look at that lineup it has a .300 switch hitter in the number 9 hole. That is a scary lineup.
  6. Bts predicted 78 wins in the annual prediction win thread which is 6 games under .500 and in this thread he said they were an 81 win team. I just stated he is becoming more optimistic about what the team will achieve. I guess that makes me a retard.
  7. okay...you had them as a 78 win team....now you have them as an 81 win team. You are moving in the right direction
  8. 4 out of the last 5 games the Jays have lost were due to the bullpen blowing 2 and 3 plus run leads when handed the game in the 7th.....it hasn't just been one pitcher...it's been cecil, loup, delabar and Sanchez. Were these typical or a-typical type performances? Given the past couple years, these were rough patches and we can expect the bullpen to be better the moving forward, especially with Janssen coming back and it was good tonight. When Lindy comes and lawrie come back in a couple days the Jays will have all of their core guys in the lineup together at the same time for the first time this year. Things haven't all been clicking by any means for the Jays. The Jays starting pitching looks way better, the offense looks way better...only the bullpen has been worse and I think that will round into form, especially once Janssen gets back. The Jays have the best run differential in the AL East...yet only a handful of believers on this board that they can even be in contention come September. Kind of sad, really.
  9. well you had them as 71 win team at the beginning of the year, maybe by year end you'll have them as a 90 win team.
  10. it was 5 to 0 when I left....when I came back to turn the PVR I wasn't expecting such an exciting and stressful game, but we won! We're going streaking!!!!!!!
  11. you should probably check Reyes' career stats and the threads from 2 weeks ago calling Rasmus useless!
  12. is he going to hurt himself from getting all those hits..lol
  13. Bautista (9 HR)- 1 Point- Jonn Edwin (2 HR) - 1 Point- Rasmus (7 HR) - 1 Point- Dylan Lawrie (6 HR) - 2 Points- Francisco (3 HR) - 2 Points- Melky (6 HR) - 2 Points-o2cui2i, Spanky99, JaysAllMighty Reyes (2 HR) - 3 Points-Saskjayfan Navarro (1 HR) - 5 Points- Kratz (1 HR) - 7 Points- Thole (0 HR)- 8 Points- Tolleson (0 HR) - 8 Points- Getz (0 HR) - 9 Points- The Bench - 8 Points-
  14. I thought the same thing about Rasmus when he went down with Hamstring tightness...but then he missed 2 games.
  15. lindy 3 for 5 with 2 doubles.....think he will be back for Philly in Toronto?
  16. look around the league...there's tons of injuries for all clubs
  17. hopefully no DL.....I guess Francisco doesn't have to worry about missing game time with Lindy coming back now..
  18. The smaller the sample size..the greater the variation....so why do you feel so strongly that McGowan is crap.
  19. With the overwhelmingly large sample size of all that data...one really doesn't need to pay attention to how McGowan is actually pitching and whether his command is developing. The statistics have spoken...the player can not make any adjustments to alter what is pre-ordained.....I can hardly wait for Jesse Chavez to regress to the 7 ERA he should be posting.
  20. I missed the game today...McGowan was using an insulin pump his last game...he wasn't using one today?
