  1. The only real thing I have against trading Moreno is that he is (considering his poptime/arm accuracy) perhaps the best CS% catcher we have. Steal-game very important next year and having someone who can reliably throw out runners would be huge. The other two - someone has to go - we need that damn DH spot to be leveraged for a good LHB.
  2. idc who goes - can we get Zac Gallen from DBacks tho? They need a catcher.
  3. Looks like guardians hired the Jays replay guy
  4. Incredible lol. Mets/Braves/Dodgers - all out.
  5. iunno man, their fans are kinda sore losers. Dish it out against us, cry victim when its their turn. Their reddit went private lol.
  6. Should be the game if Garcia comes back otu to close it.
  7. EIGHTEENTH INNING cf at least it is giving the fans their moneys worth after 20 yrs. Two games in 1.
  8. He's the only one left no? Or are they going to bring in Flexen who the Astros have banged up all year
  9. Eeesh that double play --- Also Guardians doing work against Yankees
  10. sac fly might just win the game here Brash saves the day. Walk off loading?
  11. Oh here we go, will France come through jk
  12. Harper with the bomb to put an exclamation mark on it all.
  13. The Phillies were definitely built for the postseason and not the 162. If Padres actually pull a miracle against LAD, could be exciting NLCS.
  14. prolly not an official one cause there's two DS's per side, but he's carrying the bulk of Astros offense atm.
  15. looks like Alvarez is winning the ALDS MVP for this series; coming up big. wasn't even a bad pitch to a lefty
  16. What Swanson just did is what Bo wanted to do.
  17. I don't get it man. Dude made some amazing clutch moves in the regular season. He also saw what happens to Mayza when he faces righty sluggers, first hand, when he faced Judge like a week ago. Even when he made excellent pitches, Judge saw every one of them and sat on them until he made a mistake. What led him to put him in against Santana... its like a Mariner demon possessed him or some s***; unreal.
  18. Interesting; I didn't think he was 38 percentile slow if those are the qualifiers. He makes it pretty close on weakly hit balls when he chugs but I suppose I'd feel different if I watch Rays/Guards on those very same type of plays. He also loves going to Halifax when turning 3rd adding extra distance to reach home.
  19. How is that evaluated, the sprint speed? Is it his max speed on bases that is being ranked or his average speed? Cause if its average speed, well... dude jogs literally 90% of the time. Even when he is on 1st base and someone lines a single, he puts no pressure on defense - jogs to 2nd base. Only times he turns it on is when he's running from 2nd to home and to 1st when he hits a dribbler.
  20. 3 CF manning the outfield is the best defensive setup and, I don't think D-Backs are going to give up a single piece of their all-star/MVP OF. Makes no sense for that, not even for Kirk who is moving forward (unless he makes a dramatic change in his endurance) a DH. Maybe they do it for SP talent like Tiedemann
  21. I do hope Astros go to WS this year. All the cheating nonsense aside, I'd love for Mancini to get a ring.
  22. Alvarez painted a 176 in rookie season, brought down to 137 wRC+ in his first healthy season after (league correction), and then 185 wRC+ this year. So lets see if Vlad corrects it for next year - Vlad still has health going for him, no injury, no busted knees, no lower-back discomfort that other of his level are facing atm. Dude's attitude needs an overhaul though.
  23. Atkins does not have the guts or the creativity to better this team by making smart moves. And I don't think Rogers is giving him more money after all he spent last offseason for 1 extra win and 2 losses in postseason. Expect a bit more dumpster diving for relief, another tapia-esque bat (if not bringing him back or keeping JBJ), maybe re-sign Stripling or just run the 5 we have until trade deadline to see what happens. All we can really hope for is Bo to clean up his defense, Vlad to get his LA and plate discipline back, Teo/Springer/Danny to stay healthy, Gurriel to find some power, Kirk to find some speed and ability to throw out runners (both these facets are going to be extremely relevant next year with the changes) and not get fatigued by the end of the year, Pearson to stay healthy and get in the BP with hurling 100, Manoah not regressing to the mean, Kikuchi/Berrios finding some sort of consistency, Pop/White to becoming as advertised, Bass not regressing like he did near the end of the year for us, Martinez understanding that "pull everything to the SS" is not a good approach and preaching a bit more patience, etc... That's a lot of ifs. We aren't going to address the ifs. Atkins said this team would be ready to compete by 2021 (in his 2018 interview) and we have been - maybe he has a plan, but I think he's hoping to get lucky and and vindicated when all the ifs happen at the same time.
