I wonder how next year will look if our entire offense comes from two soon-to-be-free-agents. Anyone have any idea what is up with Tulo? Does not seem to be anywhere near the Rockie version, offensively.

Our lineup was pretty much right-handed heavy; Davis adds the power bat from Left side, which should mixed in with Donaldson and Bautista/EE. As I said in an earlier thread, I feel like trading EE to a team that needs a manageable-cost 1 yr power bat for pitching and/or a contact hitter and signing Davis might be a smart idea for the lineup in general. However, I don't think Shapiro will bite that hard on Davis, might make him an offer but I doubt it will be "this is us going for it" type offer.

I might get staked for this, but should we trade EE (Might not sit well with Bautista, shrugs) & Collabello/Smoak? Nothing to take away from Bautista, I think he clearly wanted to make it big on the post season and tried to do heroic things (most that did not pan out), but I feel he would be better at 1B (especially as he ages). That sets up a strong diamond both offensively and defensively: Donaldson, Tulowitzki, Travis, Bautista, Martin. Goins for SS/2B Backup Collabello/Smoak for 1B Backup [Need a 3B Backup] Thole for C Backup Of course we can make the case for EE staying in DH, but I feel like we are such a heavy right handed line up that perhaps we should pick up a LH Bat (power or otherwise - Chris Davis for example). EE has one more year of manageable salary as well so can be a very tempting asset for other clubs. Collabello also has been amazing for us this year, but at the same time, I feel this might be his ceiling and trading him now would net us something strong. Just think both similar to Lind trade. Just some thoughts. Also for pitching, Latos & Leake are free-agents as well.
