  2. RHP Jacob Waguespack coming back for Loup
  3. Cant imagine we'll get anyone in their top 30 but f*** it, I'll take a vintage Ken Giles shirtsey for Loup
  4. Love inside jokes, would love to be a part of one someday
  5. holy s*** I didn't realize Pham is already 30
  6. what a weak troll job, 27 posts in and you've given up?
  7. If Jansen were to bust it is easy to find another replacement level backup C, that isn't a reason to keep Maile. If you can get something for Maile you do it. However, there is absolutely no need to rush Jansen up here and start his service clock in a season like this one.
  8. probably a decent 3 or solid 4
  9. Where are you getting your information? And to every one else who is upset with the return Atkins got: https://theathletic.com/444966/2018/07/26/carig-cost-of-doing-business-why-the-yankees-overpaid-for-j-a-happ/
  10. Kind of weird to see people say Cashman is a genius and Drury sucks at the same time. He traded his #8 and #14 prospects for him this past offseason
  11. Projections at this stage don't really mean much. Outside of top 50 prospects very few players dont project above replacement level until they've have proven MLB success. Gurriel projects at replacement level too, do you see that as his ceiling for the rest of his career?
  12. there's been some opinions on here regarding this trade I dont agree with but can understand their side. This however is just stupid
  13. lol Drury is under team control for 2 of those 3 seasons
  14. As I've said his minor league profile is quite impressive. He's hit and hit consistently at every level. His scouting profile also describes him as a plus hitter with average power. He's been pretty consistently a 130 wRC+ player his entire minor league career including 144 this season. Not all players can make the jump, but if that can ever transition to the bigs with average defence (OF is a pretty easy position to teach) he could become a t 2-3 WAR player for a few years. You said he's below replacement level so far, that isnt true. This season in a small sample size yes, however for his short career he is above replacement level. Nobody is expecting him to break out in a big way and be an all-star, but for him to contribute and be a solid piece for the next 3-5 years is not unreasonable what so ever.
  15. I get that, though Im still not at all getting this Solarte comparison. His ceiling is a cheap 3 WAR player, however he isn't performing at that (0.0) and he's 31 years old. Our chance to compete is in about 3 years. He'll be 34 at that time and likely a negative WAR player. Drury will be 28, still under team control on a cheap arbitration deal. There's reasonable grounds to suspect he could be a cheap 2-3 WAR player at that time. Saying we dont need him because we have Solarte makes no sense.
  16. Honestly I think the last month had little to no impact on Happ's value. If a team had 4 years of good results from Happ and wanted to pull the trigger, then changed their mind based on 4 bad starts they'd be a pretty terrible front office.
  17. I think it's more people using insignificant measures to s*** on the deal. I perfectly understand if you dont like the upside. This isn't a high upside trade, like most of us hoped. However, things like team control and service time are a pretty terrible reason not to like it.
  18. lol never compared him to JD, but keep using that as an example rather than giving insightful response troll
  19. Strange comparison as these 3 players are nothing alike. Solarte for one: He's younger, cheaper and has more upside than Solarte. Solarte's AA and AAA numbers aren't close to as good. I dont see why we're writing off Drury in the bigs putting up better numbers at a fraction of the cost, and with more position versatility
  20. He's hit at every level of the minors. His peripherals are good and he's only 25 with 3 years of control at a cheap price. initially I was underwhelmed when I looked at his surface stats, but I dont understand how people can look deep into his numbers and scouting profile and say he's truly awful. What in his numbers suggests he is truly a terrible baseball player? That seems to be more disappointment in the return rather than fair evaluation of the player.
