  1. Alford will be rotating in with Mckinney & Pillar regularly. The beauty of this move is opening up the DH spot and providing tons of flexibility for the whole roster giving our young guys more consistent ABs. Where did you get the idea Montoyo has chosen McKinney for the lead off spot? Every indication this spring has Drury slotted there early on. I do agree with this helping Vlad's bat stay in the lineup as he continues to develop at 3B
  2. woah Alford taking the 25th spot
  3. this is pretty good
  4. Sorry Saturday the 13th
  5. I couldn't find the old ticket thread, but I cant make a game I've got tickets to on Saturday afternoon April the 14th vs the Rays. 2 Tickets are in section 221 right beside the comfort clubhouse. Asking $100 for the pair (less than face value), just send me a DM if you're interested Edit: view from the seats (click to zoom)
  6. I mean it seems like it could be accurate but he also is probably just estimating. I doubt Vladdy walked on a scale in front of the Vancouver Canadians announcer
  7. So many "Harper is probably pissed" comments too. f***ing why? He isn't half the player trout is and is making 3/4 the money
  8. yup Harper last 3 seasons: 11.8 fWAR Trout last 3 seasons: 26.3 fWAR Steamer also projects Trout to almost double Harper's fWAR next season
  9. no it hasn't
  10. Maybe based on todays game only but he hasn't walked and has struck out 11 times in 37 PA this spring, that wont get you far in the bigs
  11. It takes one retweet/like/reply from someone I follow for it to show up on my timeline, but yes I am aware. The replies are still amusing regardless
  12. holy f*** the season needs to start
  13. Now through 4 with 5 K's, minus his error. Excellent stuff
  14. Good outing for Sanchez today 4IP 0ER 3K 1H 1BB
  15. I'd have to agree with glory in that the avoiding minor headache the FO would get from twitter bitching and an unwinnable grievance doesn't really offset the durability concerns from our fat prized possession
  16. Sorry I thought your argument was who is our best OF right now, not in the past? You're right Pillar has been better over the past 4 years, as 4 years ago in his prime he put up a 3.7 fWAR season. However, I think with their age and skill set it is pretty clear Grichuk is the more valuable player right now and moving forward. I'd even be willing to make an fWAR wager for this season injuries included if you're interested.
  17. Pillar only played 18 more games than Grichuk last season and still had a slightly lower WAR. Steamer also projects Grichuk to be half a win better this season. I'd argue he's our best
  18. So three players that combined for a 0.2 WAR in 2018 are each individually better than a player that amassed 2.0 WAR. That is one steamy hot take my man
  19. On the plus side at least he's recognized this and is already making an effort at 19
  20. Seems like a good to throw this out there https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/1728881/blue-jays-vlad-jr-focused-on-fitness-at-spring-training
  21. no one wants to waste the time on such obvious evaluations but I'll do it just cause Monday morning at work is slow. Happ's xFIP in Toronto was a full run lower than Borucki, he had a higher WAR, almost double the K rate and a lower walk rate
