That's just how baseball is sometimes. Nothing is certain and even the worst teams can go on runs. The Phillies went something like 23-10 after the ASB. Yost is a bad manager with a good team, that's it. I will give Yost credit for how he managed his pen in game 3. Having Medlen eat all those innings preserved the core of his pen unlike that f***ing moron Gibbons that somehow found a way to burn his entire pen with a 6+ run lead. I love Gibby's lineup construction but the guy has been absolutely terrible at managing the pen. Between having Sanchez face Gardner/Ellsbury on short rest, basically banishing Hendriks from any high leverage situations, LOOGY Cecil (earlier in the year), and god knows what else. It just doesn't seem like he knows what he's doing. He's fallen into the trap of defining BP roles to guys that clearly don't deserve it.
