    I'm gonna miss Liam but I'm OK with this trade. Gibby clearly didn't want him pitching in high leverage situations. Better to have depth at the starter position than an elite reliever who only comes into the game when the Jays are up/down by 8 runs.

    Dickey got stronger as the year progressed, Buehrle fell off a cliff and seemed to have injury issues all the way until the end of the season. If he accepted the QO we'd be kinda f***ed. Buehrle also wants to play somewhere closer to home, I doubt he'd want to go through the grind again if it's in Toronto...

    There's only so much a reliever can do on the field. I like this move from a Jays fan perspective. The Red Sox burned up a good amount of their non-untouchable prospects for an elite, but expensive reliever. I would have been far more worried had they gotten Ross or some other #2-3 type starter.

    Do you even watch baseball? What about balls hit 400+ feet that get caught at the warning track, I'm sure you think those are lousy hits too. s*** happens, he got the pitch he wanted and crushed it, it just happened to find a glove. daren willman josh donaldson's line out was hit 114 mph... League ba on balls hit that hard is .701.

    That's just how baseball is sometimes. Nothing is certain and even the worst teams can go on runs. The Phillies went something like 23-10 after the ASB. Yost is a bad manager with a good team, that's it. I will give Yost credit for how he managed his pen in game 3. Having Medlen eat all those innings preserved the core of his pen unlike that f***ing moron Gibbons that somehow found a way to burn his entire pen with a 6+ run lead. I love Gibby's lineup construction but the guy has been absolutely terrible at managing the pen. Between having Sanchez face Gardner/Ellsbury on short rest, basically banishing Hendriks from any high leverage situations, LOOGY Cecil (earlier in the year), and god knows what else. It just doesn't seem like he knows what he's doing. He's fallen into the trap of defining BP roles to guys that clearly don't deserve it.
