Yeah ooookeeeeeee buddy, we'll see when we actually get to see what T.B gets for Price when they let him go by the deadline. A TOP 50 pick by BASEBALL AMERICA and another pitcher who's close to being MLB ready and a mid level prospect isn't far fetched at all despite what all the scouts, GM'S and managers around here think. T.B is desperate for young arms to replace a guy they have no chance of resigning and I don't think they will get much more than that for Price, if they even get that much at all.
He might have extra value considering they have him for another year but I don't think that's as much leverage as some people think considering how desperate Tampa is for young inexpensive pitching. Based on their attendance and performance this year as well? Takes away some of that leverage that extra year has on his contract. No way they get anything more than exactly what I said, a top 50 prospect, a mid level prospect and a MLB ready arm like Drabek.
As for people pretending to know what Sanchez will be based on the command he has at 21 years of age? I think that's what is ridiculous here. The guy has a wipeout pitch with his curveball and he still has a good two years left to learn command of his fastball before ANYONE can legitmately say that he is a number 3 or 4 or whatever, based on his command. Truth is, he could easily become a number 1 in any rotation if he corrects his delivery to the point where he can learn to repeat it without to much strain on his arm. He's 21, stop pretending to know what he's going to be.
