  1. Yea the new agreement doesn't,t help the players at all . They still get screwed
  2. Last estimates I read on the posting fee will be around 75mil. But he will get less than Darvish salary wise. Expect about 6/54 so about 9 mil a year toward salary cap
  3. So offer an option year with 2 mil buyout. I,m willing to over pay Chooch
  4. Now WTF does that mean Ang . I have a hard enough time understanding some of the English spoken on this board , never mind translating Spanish .
  5. I,m going to be positive and think it was us.
  6. LOL Thing is there is more to catching than pitch framing. Blocking the plate , blocking balls in the dirt , throwing out runners , and especially calling pitches !!! All things that I believe JPA doesn't,t do well that chooch excels in . I think JPA will improve and maybe become league average but this team can,t wait . The window closes after this year . But what the f*** do I know.. I,m just an old guy who believes in Pitching and defence ,something we had zero of last year .
  7. I,m beyond caring about the stats . We need a catcher upgrade. Offer Ruiz 2/ 22 if that is what it takes I firmly believe Ruiz would add at least 2wins
  8. Now I totally agree with that post. Not sure what the payroll space . Tall order , fixable but we realistically need to get as lucky as Boston did this year and f***ing Health is key as there is absolutely NO positional depth
  9. I will be forever pissed at last years gutting of the minors but I firmly believe AA was pushed in that direction so I'm not dumping him yet . With health and 3 good additions this team could be competitive but it,ll take the same luck that Boston had last year where everything went right for them . I still start to gut this team in July if we aren't solidly in the race .
  10. Are you becoming one of the Stache,s groupies ? Yes I am serious . Just like I think JPA will hit someday in the majors I don,t think with health this is a 75 to 78 win team . Sure it is bad but why can,t the Jays get as lucky as the Red Sox were this year health wise. Healthy this team would win 80 games . Healthy we have hutch , Drabek etc at AAA plus all the rest I mentioned
  11. Just cause I don,t think it is as bad as the Stache says doesn't,t mean it isn,t bad . I just disagree with his 75 win team with health. I agree with almost everything he posts. Little on the farm, and only BP pieces to trade .Good news Is AA seems to suggest he has more money than I expected. Maybe Spanky is right and he has 165 mil. So give Ruiz the 2/20 and start the off season signing on a great note.
  12. I know it is bad , hell pretty bad but you are all doom and gloom and NO it is not 138 . It is between 132 and 134 depending on arb awards . Dumping JPA gets it close to 130. An NO this is not a 75 win team with health. Morrow healthy and giving us 33 starts , Lawrie and Reyes and Bautista all playing 150 plus games . Dickey healthy enough to have his velocity. Melky healthy and actually being able to run . You are one of the most knowledgeable posters on this board , that is a given but your constant doom and gloom ,sky is falling s*** gets old at times. Exaggerating the bad and not even admitting there are some positives gets old Stache.
  13. Why don,t you just f*** off. This is a free speech forum and we don,t need ******* tattlers like you around . If you don,t like the post then don,t read it . THREATS are not welcome on this board
  14. Power is in damn short supply all over baseball. Avg. OPS has dropped from 787 to under 710 in the NL since the year2000. Average OBP in the NL this year was under 315 in the NL and 317 in the AL . Send him down to AAA and fix the bat. It is fixable. Mark my words JPA will hit in the majors and will be an above average hitter at the catcher position. I want him in AAA.
  15. Makes sense on McGowan As for Cecil , AA make look at how much value Cecil adds to the pen vs as a 5th starter not much better than what we have tons of already with Rogers, Redmond , Happless , Romero and Hutch/ Stroman/ Drabek . More I think about it the more I like Jefferess getting tried in the rotation . Put him this winter learning to improve his off speed stuff and hope to find lightning and if it doesn't,t strike ,Meh move on . Plenty of options
  16. I would think AA still plans on getting a starter but budgetary issues and lack of options may mean we don,t get what we want I,m surprised no one gave Messenger a 2year deal for how little he wanted what with the lack of cheap options out there. I still believe AA moves some BP depth for a starter like you and I have talked about. Just makes sense. With so many live arms in the BP we could get really lucky and wind up with a very good starter.
  17. King , take a look at our MIF depth in the minors .
  18. Yes better but I,m not convinced Goins is in AAA this year and after last years DL disaster I want some AAA depth. Plus a strong team in Buffalo keeps them happy and I don,t want to wind up back in frigging Vegas.
  19. What I meant but didn't,t type was that that would have been a good non roster pick up as AAA depth.
  20. I think Hughes in that big ballpark would be decent but if I,m him I go to a team in the NL west for 1year and build value
  21. We don,t have Kawasaki this year and Izturis has proved he can,t play on turf so having Bartlett in AAA would help.
  22. Exactly Jay. Lots of success lately turning relievers into starters and when your Bullpen is overloaded with live arms it makes sense to try turning some into starters. Obviously we can,t keep all these BP arms as so many are out of options .. I would be doing this with several including McGowan. They must feel he has turned the corner with his control and off speed pitches. I would add that even with a trade we have an overloaded BP and you can still move them back to the BP if it doesn,t work.
  23. Lol took that the wrong way.
  24. Amazing what free money will do. Atlanta taxpayers will scream bloody murder and this will go down fast. How can a City justify this. Do they have a video of the whole council smoking crack ?
  25. You mean a Righty ?
