I beat up on Buehrle because of his salary when the deal went down. On the FA market he was more in the 13/14 range and paying him 19 seemed stupid but he has certainly been our best starter and actually earned every penny . Chappy, you were right all along on him and I was wrong. Been lots of discussion on MLB radio about all the pitchers going for TJS and the max effort high nineties guys vs the command guys . MB spots his 83/84 MPH fastball with amazing control, never goes on the DL, doesn't K a lot but generates weak contact. Morrow throws with max effort, great stuff gets his K,s and gives up walks and goes on the DL. Right now command is proving better than velocity and stuff!! even if xFIP doesn't show it.

Hendriks has at least 1 option left and has pitched as well as Stroman in AAA. Stroman hasn't pitched well since his call up. Had he done well I'm sure he would have got the start. As Chappy said Stroman will get his chance and getting a little experience in the majors has given him some idea of what to work on in AAA. I don't mind this move. I would love to send Rogers down to stretch him out ,work on his slider and get him going in the right direction but that won't be possible as he won't clear waivers so we live with what we have.

Took the words from my mouth er er fingers. Just glides to those balls just like Devo used to. And that bunt was super, they are playing for a bunt, he lays one down and they still can't get him . If he bunts like that once every series the infield will be in all the time for him and he'll get extra hits.

I hope that will change but history says NO. Frustrating when you see a guy with such huge talent unable to succeed due to injuries. When he did stay healthy his command improved and he almost had the no hitter. He needs to pitch to get that back. I

And how would you suggest they would have done that without any money. He had a deal to trade relief pitching but people didn't pass medicals. -

You could have the same debate Buehrle vs Morrow. It is all about command. Buehrle and Janssen have great command of below average pitches. Santos and Morrow when they have their command and aren't on the DL are better but that doesn't happen often enough.

Great win. Happ wasn't happless, pitched a decent game and EE is so hot he is carrying the team . Back at 500 at 21 and 21 with the BP losses at 9 . McGowan will improve the pen and the Stroman will hopefully get his first MLB start
