  1. I wasn't as down on the Mouse as most on this board. I expected a bounce back year and as a guy on the bench if his defense had improved on turf . He looked like that was happening so his loss was more than most made out. Good teams overcome injuries but NO team can lose it,s 1st,2nd,and 3rd baseman and still compete. Add in that Bautista has to DH and we are in the midst of the toughest part of the schedule puts huge pressure on the team. While most fans scream for AA to do something I'm hoping he doesn't panic. I'm not convinced the Jays can overcome this latest round of injuries and also not convinced Rogers is willing to add salary thus any deal will cost more in prospects. AZ seems desperate to shed salary, and Towers has stated that so I would be in favor of adding Prado as I have suggested many times if it only cost money.
  2. If EE is gone for any length of time it is going to be really tough is compete. Lind is still hurting , Bautista not healthy, Francisco has "Trouble with the Curve"and Lawrie is still gone for 2 to 4 weeks. Yikes
  3. Wonder what the vote would be if it was held now . We Obviously need a frigging BAT
  4. Yankees are well over 10 million. Be interesting to see how much they actually spend. They are trying to rebuild a s*** system in one year with 16 year olds. Good luck as most of these kids fail.
  5. Yea , Unless they fall out of it or Hutch goes thru a dead arm issue again the most I expect is extra days rest. IF Morrow comes back then I see him in the pen. i just don't see a big arm coming in as long as the starters go the way they have been . Just too costly in terms of prospects for a significant upgrade . I prefer an infield bat . Prado costs only money ,i like that he hits lefties well.
  6. And he may just Bust cause his command is bad just too early to tell.
  7. Read the thread!
  8. Exactly. the reason the Expos traded Johnson was they felt he would never throw enough strikes and they NEVER lived that trade down. I'm not even suggesting Sanchez is Johnson but he is still young and has time to get that command . And maybe he never does but it is way to early to say he is a bust.
  9. Price , Lawrie , Prado , Soria , and Cecil pitching like he did last year
  10. Washingtons not the problem . The lack of talent is. No pitching except for Darvish and injuries all over.
  11. I realize that. Worst division in the AL and NO WC coming out of it. jays have a chance to go to the playoffs but unless things change they won't go far. That is why i just can't gut the minors for a shot
  12. Chap , I agree that we are in a mediocre division but we just took two from the 2nd best team in baseball so i think jay has a right to celebrate. Was at the lake cutting f***ing grass so i didn't even catch much on the radio but hats off to Happ for bearing down after giving up the 4 runs early and to the offense for the comeback. Thumbs down to Gose and Mastro for the failed bunts . One of the things they have to do to be on an MLB roster. I send Gose and Glenn back and call up Kratz and Pillar when I can.
  13. So gut the minors again for a what 10 % shot? Glad you super scouts know who to trade. funny , Most of the posters who crucify AA still for the trades that gutted the minors now want him to gut them again because of course they watched a few MILB games and know better than our development people.
  14. The failure rate is huge! For every 10 good pitching prospect, what is it 2 ? 3 make it ? So when you trade more than 1/2 of them away your odds of having even1 make it go down . I know his walk rate is down right ugly but even if he winds up a #5 it is better than being the 2016 version of the phillies and having nothing. And IF and I know this is a big IF he does get decent control then he is a 3 and we will need pitching.
  15. There is good news today as the Jays signed Hoffman and Pentecost. bad news is sounds like both were at slot
  16. Jays are facing a lot of lefty pitching on this road trip . Hopefully Bautista can play in the field and if he can I expect Kratz to come back up as soon as the 10 days are up.
  17. I don't pretend to know more than professional scouts but I do know that the jays have to draft and develop their own players. One thing Riccaedi didn't do. That is the single most reason for the 20 year drought. Trading it all away ( Gord Ash ) after finally getting talent into the system will result in another long long drought.
  18. If we keep trading our young talent we will soon wind up as the AL East version of the Phillies only without their long playoff run. Lots of cases where pitchers took a long time to gain their command. Randy Johnson walked over 5 per 9 age 25 thru 28 .
  19. Didn't catch the game, gotta get satellite TV at the Lake , but looking at the box score and reading the wrap seems Hutch pitched well and the offense did just enough till Lind, Melky and EE broke it open. So much for the Naysayers that posted we would lose these two and the season is over and the f***ing sky is falling.
  20. Definitely the better player and NO i did not look just thought he was an FA MY BAD> Still the Rays will want more to trade him in the division. Let the Giants have him for Kyle Crick if that's what he is worth. Prado costs only money and I just can't trade our young pitching. Not that my concern means s*** . If AA has a shot i'm scared he will gut the minors and the 2016 jays will be the next Phillies
  21. Sanchez,s start was promising, lets hope it is the start of better command.
  22. You want a 2nd baseman take a salary dump like Martin Prado who will cost you next to nothing if you take on the salary.
  23. i wouldn't do it for a half year of Zobrist . The Jays have to have some one to replace the Buehrles, Dickeys and Happs. What is the failure rate of rookie pitchers even those succeeding at AA 60% ? So you need 10 good prospects to fill 3 spots . Teams just can't keep trading their young pitching or position prospects or you wind up like Amaro,s Phillies.
