I had insurance once. Then stopped. Not sure what it is now, but when I had it, it was 10$ a month or so, and even when you did brake it you have to pay a fee of a couple hundred. And it didn't include water damage.

Never had Sony, can't comment on them. I got into the habbit of sticking mine in a case anyway, so aestheticallyness is usually less of a concern, my phone always ended up cracked without one.
