  1. With Maicer already here as a utility player/platoon at 2B, carrying Carroll would be awful roster management.
  2. Carroll was quite productive from 2010-2012 (2 WAR or higher). Still, Carroll should not be a target in the offseason, especially as a starting second baseman or as a utility player since the Jays already have Maicer. Carrying Goins, Carroll and Maicer all north of the border is just a complete waste and awful roster management. At least use that bench spot on a bat. I have no problem with Carroll on a minor league deal and he plays in Buffalo, though not on a MLB deal.
  3. Ah AA loves just wasting roster spots on aging players who can't hit. Omar Visquel 2.0!
  4. Awesome deal for the Royals. Aoki would have been a nice fit in Toronto at that price.
  5. Why don't the Jays just ask for Gerrit Cole while were at it? I doubt guys like Polanco, Meadows or Hanson would be moved for Lind. Neil Walker would be an interesting name.
  6. Career WAR: Kratz: 1.8 JPA: 0.9 And I thought JPA was a Top Ten catcher?
  7. Yankees sign Ellsbury; Jays trade for Kratz! We love it!
  8. I like this signing since Ellsbury is an elite player and one of the best CF's in baseball. All his injuries have been freak injuries more than anything. Also, I'd rather sign Ellsbury at this contract if I'm the Yankees rather than give Cano $250 million over 10 years - Ellsbury likely provides similar value at a cheaper cost and the Yankees don't lose a beat. It'll be tough to find the gaps with Ellsbury and Gardiner manning the outfield in New York.
  9. Which beers are on the menu haha?
  10. Yeah thought he'd get something similar to Ruiz or more. If its $21 million, that's a bargain.
  11. Nice deal for the Marlins. Now that leaves JPA only on the market for catchers. Slim pickings now haha.
  12. Awful numbers on the road. He's been a frustrating player - has so much talent and he hasn't been able to put it all together.
  13. Great move for the Astros. I actually would have liked the Jays to target Fowler if they decided to trade Rasmus in a deal for Homer Bailey. Great move for the Astros!
  14. If I recall, Rodney and Farnsworth weren't making the same money as Heath Bell I could see Bell rejuvenate his career with the Rays. He had solid peripherals last season with Arizona (72 K's vs 16 BB's). His home run rate last season is a cause for concern though; he always has pitched in big parks (San Diego and Miami), so hopefully with him moving to the AL East, batters tee off of him!
  15. Ewww
  16. Rolling with Anderson as a back end starter is definitely worth the risk, since he could provide a lot of value if healthy. If Brett Anderson is the only pitcher the Jays bring in, I'd be extremely disappointed. Though if the Jays also sign a more solid option like Garza, I'd definitely be happy with Anderson as a No. 4 or 5 since he has the potential to pitch like a No. 2 or 3 when healthy. Dickey Garza Buerhrle Morrow Anderson Depth: Nolin, Stroman, Hutch, Drabek, Rogers, Redmond, Jenkins, any other minor league FA. Rotation would look in good shape and the Jays have enough depth in their minors to fill in for Morrow or Anderson if needed.
  17. Everything might be done before the meetings next week lol.
  18. Some big statements being made on this board over the last 24 hours lol.
  19. I knew the Rays were going to be all over Hanigan - just a typical Rays move. Ah I'm disappointed!
  20. That's not how the Rays as an organization do business lol. Still, since Molina was on their team previously and the Rays resigned him, they would still be able to trade him anytime before June correct? I think that rule only applies to FA's who sign with new teams...
  21. Damn. What did I say about the Rays landing Hanigan. This is a real blow.
  22. As a backup or insurance in Buffalo, I'd like Marson.
