  3. Gibbers didn't even make a trade though...this came from talking about Donaldson.

Derozan won't get $25 M a year lol. As for Amir demanding $12-15 M per season, then I'd say the Raps go in a different direction at PF. I like Amir, though they could easily replace his production at a lot less. Patrick Patterson!

Did anyone get NBA 2k15? It's awesome!
  6. I'm looking forward to a full season of Stroman, and I expect Hutch to improve in 2015 as well. Along with Dickey and MB, who might not be aces, though at least they are durable and can provide 200 + quality innings. Happ looks like a solid No. 5 starter, and with Sanchez and Norris in the wings, the rotation has a lot of depth. Likely MB and Happ are gone after 2015, so the Jays will need to fill two rotation spots, so hopefully Sanchez and Norris are those two and pan out. The Jays have a young, cheap and controllable rotation moving forward which is a plus. I feel more comfortable signing a big FA bat to a 5-year contract over a big FA pitcher. EE and Bautista are two elite bats - and I'm sure not many teams have 3-4 hitters like Bautista and EE. Reyes can be better, no doubt. And if Lawrie stays healthy, he'll provide value. And who knows if Pompey explodes? I don't mind Gose in CF since he provides a lot of value with his defense. And like you said, there are solid contributors in the fold like Lind, Cecil, Happ, Loup etc - if the Jays add more solid contributors, at second or third base, in left field, in the bullpen and strengthen their bench with guys who can hit and have versatility, then 2015 doesn't look all that bad. It's a solid roster mix they have.
  7. Agreed, though I'm sure hitting at the RC is better than hitting at Safeco...last time I checked.
  8. Yeah I recall Wheeler and Kane were taking quite high during the draft. Wasn't Wheeler taken at the end of the first round? That's absurd.
  9. At least he has a strategy, compared to some other managers which don't.
  10. As for Donaldson, I don't think the Jays could afford moving all those young pieces for him. They still have plenty of holes on their roster and will even have more come 2016. Depleting what is already a weak farm and with the tight payroll constraints they already have, I don't see a deal like this working.
  11. That's a solid young core he has, better than some other teams in the DDL. I'm sure Chris moves Harrison in the offseason and adds more young pieces to that talented group.
  12. I don't have a problem with giving Saunders a chance in LF, since he can play all three outfield positions. He's still young, and he'd be hitting in a much better park.
  13. What if Stanton becomes a True Cardinal? http://www.stlcardinalbaseball.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/giancarlo-stanton-cardinals-marlins-rumor-stlcardinalbaseball1.jpg
  14. http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2013/0708/mag_giancarlostanton_800.jpg We can both agree that Donaldson doesn't have that bod!
  15. Stanton's fault that he got hit by a pitch in the jaw I assume? In terms of moving forward, Stanton is a better asset. Donaldson has peaked and won't likely be a 6-7 WAR player again. Even Steamer has him down for a considerable regression next season.
  16. What if Donaldson continues to decline every season over the next 4 years?
  17. Even in 2015, I'll take Stanton over Donaldson. I hate quoting Steamer to back my argument, though even they are projecting Stanton will be more valuable in 2015 and are projecting a decline on Donaldson next season.
  18. I'll take Stanton over Donaldson everyday of the week.
  19. Yeah usually face-offs is always a category in most fantasy leagues.
  20. If it were 4 years of Trout, nobody would hesitate as well.
  21. Sanchez is a reliever? I'd hope the Jays try him out as a starter. The Jays after 2015 won't likely retain Happ and MB, so that's two openings. I doubt the Jays will sign a big FA pitcher, since they are crazy expensive on the open market, so stock piling on as many young cheap arms like Stroman, Hutch, Stroman, Norris etc. is important for this organization moving forward. I know Lawrie hasn't been able to stay healthy, though with his skill set over a full season, he can easily produce a lot of value. I have no problem trading Lawrie for Donaldson obviously, though giving up their other top young arms like Sanchez and Norris on top of that is a lot. C Navarro 1B Encarnacion 2B ? 3B Donaldson SS Reyes RF Bautista CF Gose LF ???? DH Lind/Mayberry SP Dickey SP MB SP Stroman SP Hutchison SP Happ Like I said, MB and Happ are gone after 2015. That creates two holes in the rotation. Plus, any injuries to those arms I'm not sure there is much depth afterwards - Nolin, Drabek, Redmond, Graveman etc. How will the Jays make upgrades at second base, in left field and in the rotation moving forward? The main trade chips like Sanchez and Norris are gone. Donaldson after 2015 will keep getting more expensive and likely will be providing slightly less value, the Jays will have holes in their rotation, and other areas as well. Just doesn't make sense.
  22. Isn't he arbitration eligible coming up this season? And he will be 29 on Opening Day next season (he was born in December). He'll start getting expensive and he'll be entering his 30's.
