    Exciting times. But it's not as easy as it used to be. The hospitals have extra security and they watch the babies very closely. Your best chance is to grab one up, in the five minute window during the shift change. The guards always chat for a few minutes in the staff room. Also, make sure you know where the cameras are. A friend of mine thought he had gotten away with one, but then the cops showed up at his house a few hours later. Facial recognition spoils everything these days. Not like the good old days. If you're successful, don't post a picture on the internet. I have some contacts to help you forge the paperwork if you need it.

    Once it gets over six hours, I generally cheer for them to miss their pick. People picking with 15 minutes left on their 12 hour window is the absolute worst case scenario

    Cody Morris was supposed to be my 4th round sleeper pick. Dammit. I am now down to 16 guys in my queue.

    Is the draft screwed up? It only shows me up to the Matt Mclain pick (2-15), but we are on 2-20 now. Checking my roster, it looks like it's added the players we drafted, it just doesn't show up in the draft chat.

    Trying to autodraft this entire thing. Plugged 30 guys in to start, down to 26.

    They kind of look at it like University. You get a free education, and enough money to get by (barely). Should we complain that Arts students should get free tuition, and $50,000 a year to live on. The reason they are cutting milb positions is that the cost of keeping these guys around went up. The numbers don't work anymore. Previously, if the average annual cost of a milb player was $40,000, the teams could afford to have 180 players per team. allowing them to keep longshots who only had a 1% chance of making the majors. But now with salary increases and mandatory housing, they can only keep 150 guys, just guys with a 3% chance of making the majors.

    My advice is stop taking on new teams. New drafts and taking on new teams is the fun part. Daily maintenance through the season of 5+ leagues can become a grind. Pace yourself.

    MLB has their own set of rules. There's no law against writing homophobic slurs in your eyeblack, but MLB was still able to punish Escobar. No, he didn't do anything illegal, arguably, but the optics of having a guy on your team who enjoys beating women while having sex with them, isn't great. Saying the N word on the phone to your girlfriend, isn't illegal either, but the NBA still managed to ban that guy for life. It will be interesting to see what the Dodgers do. Looks like he has roughly $65 million owed to him between 2022 and 2023. That's a lot of cash to eat for a guy you don't want to put on the roster. Do they play him or trade him for pennies on the dollar? Then again, Bauer really faded after the resin change, so maybe he'll be crap and none of this will matter.

    "Any player that is a) unowned in Fantrax, and property of an MLB team at the start of the draft is eligible to be selected in the draft. If a player signs with an MLB team after the draft has started, he is not eligible." Basically, you can't take Suzuki. Pretty much everyone else is game.

    Yeah, was debating between Pratto and Perez. In the end, I had concerns about Pratto's K rate.

    I agree. Not a terrible look at all. MLB is saying: 'We're far apart and we don't think you are being reasonable. Let's bring a neutral third party in to help find middle ground'. Union is saying: 'We don't want a neutral third party. We tried that once, 36 years ago, and it didn't work then, so why would it work now". Apparently, for the MLBPA, a sample size of one is enough.

    Keep Nestor Cortes Jr. (I assume that's Nasty Nestor). Dump everyone else. Probably someone better on the waiver wire.

    Is Borjan always this good? He's been incredible. Most underrated player on the team.
