Overall, I think you'll definitely get more value out of this. Skaggs has a good ceiling and even if he pitches like a #3, that's still amazing value since he is so young.
I wanted to trade a younger piece of a guy who can step in and help me now though. With some aging outfielders, I want to make a strong push in the next 1-3 years. A few concerns with Weaver's velocity but if he can hang around the 87-89 area, I'm confident I'll get at least a few more good years.
Worst case scenario would be if Skaggs comes up and pitches lights out next year, already outperforming Weaver. if that happens, I will probably go jump off a building.
