I feel we are missing out on the Mariner's tear down bargain sale. Still a chance for Seager + Haniger I guess

3rd base of course... If anyone is going into this season thinking we NEED to play Vladdy at 3B, I don't understand why. The best scouting reports on him say that he "might even be able to play a passable 3rd for a few seasons". Seager is a legit good defensive 3b.

What do you all think about trying to Seager + Haniger or Segrua out of Seattle? MLBTR is talking about the M's basically giving Seager away or packaging him with one of the above to help move him. Seager is a decent bounce back candidate given he put up 1.6 WAR last year while having his worst batting year by quite a bit. Projects for 2.6+ WAR next year, and is pretty recently a 4-ish WAR guy. Contract is a little under 20M for the next 3 years. Pretty easy to see a situation where he gives some surplus value. And if you can get one of those other dudes for a better price, might be worth the gamble. Plus Seattle is really dumb

btw, I input everyone's picks into the spreadsheet as they weren't in there yet. I'm hoping to collect some of them, so it was a good opportunity Not sure if there has been any trades involving this years set of picks, but if so, they aren't reflected yet.

He's just been asked for inside other deals for one of the centres. I'm leaning to just keep him if I don't get a better offer. I just can't give up a starting goalie for a 1st rounder and a prospect I don't really like that much.

So update. You homers all want John Tavares. Surprising mild interest on Crosby. Top offers on JT are; Him and Murray for 4 young-ish players, 3 at the NHL level and a 1st rounder Him Alone for 3 really nice prospects, none currently at the NHL level full time I'm leaning towards the sell, so get your offers in!

I'm considering a tare down, which is tough in this league with league future uncertainty and fairly low prospect caps. There is some attractive assets to be had; Sid the Kid John Tavares Chris Kreider Jon Marchessault Wayne Simmonds Tomas Hertl Kris Letang Matt Ekhom Carey Price Matt Murray Anyone on the team really. Not committed to selling, but certainly entertaining it if there is strong interest in my core. Would be looking for young players, hot shot prospects, and 1st rounder picks

I'd say Manny may be the safer choice. Less injury history and a better chance of putting up positive defensive marks. Bryce obviously has the higher ceiling tho

I would be 'fine' with Manny on the team. Easier to accept a **** who wins you games than a **** that beats you. Wouldn't hold me breath tho

I'm with you on Diaz BTS. I don't like the bat and the defense doesn't pass the eye test (backed up by UZR and DRS). Doesn't seem like the type to age gracefully, although that isn't based on anything. The trade doesn't seem like a big win for us to me, but everyone saying we should have got more is assuming he had value elsewhere which may or may not be true. You also can't base a trade complete on current values for players. If you think Trent is going to increase in value while Diaz is not, that trade may not be available in the future. Right now I see this as a big 'Meh'. I'll trust the FO b/c they've given me no reason not too.

tough to get too excited for Thornton. Hopefully the FO see something we don't. If Diaz just wasn't in the plan I have no issue moving on from him tho.
