He is firmly on my cut list, that's for sure. He had another great stretch last year too, but then got injured and it all went off the rails again. You have to wonder what it would look like if he could somehow put it together and keep it together, but its obviously becoming less likely year-by-year.

I am still looking to upgrade my 3B. Could trade Seager, who I think could very well bounce back and recoup his value (I just can't count on it while trying to contend). Would also deal non-Whitley prospects (unless its for a stud) and any picks. I would consider offers on other roster players as well. Also still trying to find Thames a good home. Would trade for a prospect or pick upgrade

So Machado apparently sitting at 7 years @ 25-30M yearly-ish. That's really crazy low. At some point you need to just take the value while its there, even if its earlier than you expected.

Trading Russ doesn't hurt us a bunch in wins with Jansen starting. He actually might start more which could theoretically be a boon.

Just read on MLBTR that Murray loses his bonus if the plays football. I was not really aware of this. They of course lose the pick however

My offseason to-do list is getting short. Would still like to trade Eric Thames or Matt Kemp for a similarly old and/or risky asset at a different position. I'd like to sell off a few prospects for picks or 2-1's - Franklin Perez - Steele Walker - One other! In an ideal world I would also trade for an upgrade at 3B. I still think Seager has a rebound in him, but would make a move if it presented itself.

I love the depth, but its hard to imagine that we are going to fill out the top of our rotation (the 1-2 spots) with any of these guys unless Pearson can finally stay healthy and we get really lucky with someone else.

I am honestly interested to know how they plan to put a rotation in place when they are looking to move into competitiveness in a year or two.

So Harper is getting multiple 300M+ offers, but Machado is sitting between 200-250. I don't get the disparity. Harper obviously has the bigger upside (as evidenced by his 9 win season), but Manny has been WAY more consistent and isn't 100% dependent on producing on the offensive side as he has proven to be an great defender at times. The feeling is that Harper would be worth a monster 10-year deal, do we feel the same about Machado? Because that one looks like we would have a better shot at it given the market. Would actually fit in ok position-wise. You could put him at SS for a bit and move him to 3B when Vladdy 'out-grows' it.

Who has a CF to trade me? Would be interesting in moving Adam Eaton for a similarly risky/upsidey dude with CF. Also interest in moving reclamation project Eric Thames and DL stash G Richards. Could move Dee Gordon if anyone wants some SB's and versatility (might be 2B, SS, CF next year). Was the foot injury really the issue? Who knows!

Was thinking about the Yanks rotation after the Happ deal. Lefty heavy with him Pax and CC. Tons of great lefties in the division right now. Those 3, Snell, Sale, EdRod Getting a good lefty masher could be fun (not 'make you competitive' fun but funner)

Has it always been this bad in the DR? I know they don't GAF about drinking and driving (not saying that was the case here, just in general) so it going to be higher than Western countries. I just don't remember this when I first started watching baseball, but maybe it was b/c I was less in tune when the prospects were killed. Truly sad stuff going on down there.
