#Cubs, #DBacks discussing trade that would send Miguel Montero to Chicago, sources tell @Ken_Rosenthal and me. @FOXSports
I agree actually. He'll of course have a bit of an adjustment settling into the USA as any foreigner would but I'm sure the organization has been in the situation enough times that they should help make the transition easy.
I'm fairly confident he won't be sent to the DSL though.
He'll be in the GCL. Sending him to the DSL would be very hard on the guy.
Edit: He's 19 already, so he would be somewhat old for the DSL level. He's also not Dominican or Spanish speaking (assuming).. So he would have quite the culture change being sent to the DSL and another one when they would eventually promote him to the US.
I would bet my life savings he'll be in the USA when he starts pro ball.
Why are you trying to downplay it? He set the Mooseheads record for points in a month with 34 in November, all while playing on a mediocre to bad team. Chl player of the week etc. etc.
I'm excited for his future, I'm not going to argue it any further.
Ehlers + 1st for Elliott + 2nd is looking pretty good for me right now. Ehlers is shredding up the Q, havoks team is in 17th place (although high in PR) and Elliott is injured.
Some things about that article
- Seems like they will give him two years at minimum in the org., then decide if they want to keep him or release him. Wonder if that's standard for the Blue Jays?
- Lol @ Sam thinking he could be sent to the Dominican Republic. Poor guy.
Lol the interview was saying in 2014 he was a lot mentally stronger and having more fun than 2013.. where in 2013, he got down on himself every at bat.
And the twitter comment, *facepalm*, lol burlington
