Bluefield Blue Jays roster is out http://i.imgur.com/3TTbV82.png http://i.imgur.com/P0TldEZ.png http://i.imgur.com/1r5rcih.png Vlad Jr. will start at 3B despite this saying he's an OF, according to this article: http://www.bdtonline.com/sports/guerrero-highlights-blue-jays-roster/article_7413e4e0-376b-11e6-84e0-13e2d31ee9b3.html Perhaps the most well known name is Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the son of longtime Major League Baseball standout Vladimir Guerrero. At 17, he is the youngest player on the roster, having signed as a free agent last year for a reported $3.5 million. His father, who played for 16 seasons, most of which came with the Montreal Expos and the Los Angeles Angels, batted .318 with 449 home runs, nearly 1,500 RBIs, while making nine All-Star teams and earning American League MVP honors in 2004. His son will play third base for Bluefield. “His tools are there, he is just 17 years old,” Holmberg said. “He was an outfielder as a free agent and got a lot of money to sign. You think to yourself, not knowing, ‘Is this guy worth that kind of money.’ “When you saw him play in extended spring training he had no fear. He has converted to third base, it has been an easy transition, hands are good, his arm is a plus, his instincts are very, very good. “He is from a baseball family, watching, listening, traveling, tremendous power, has no fear and can steal a base. He is an exciting player. He is the kind you just wind him up and let him go.” Other players to watch for are Jose Espada, Hansel Rodriguez, Reggie Pruitt. Lot's of players we drafted like Bradley Jones, Ridge Smith, Chris Hall, Kyle Weatherly, Connor Eller, Andrew Deramo, Angel Alicea, Luke Gillingham. Kelyn Jose sits mid 90s with his fastball so he could be semi interesting too.

Down 1-0, the Herd had already taken three free passes from the 24-year-old before he walked three in consecutive order with two out in the sixth. That was enough to chase Garrett from the mound, but reliever Chad Rogers ran into even more trouble. Jesus Montero squared up the first offering he saw from Rogers, lining a two-run single into center field. "Montero obviously had a big hit," said manager Gary Allenson. "He's been struggling a little bit lately. He needs to start driving in some runs and chasing some stuff. [it's good] that he got that one at the right time." Junior Lake then drew another walk to re-load the bases for Andy Burns who came through with a two-run single of his own. Melky Mesa kept the rally going as he beat out a throw from short for an infield hit. That set up Tony Sanchez to drive in two more with a liner to the gap in right-center field, pushing the Bisons' lead to 7-1. Chris Leroux had his best start of the month for the Bisons. The tall righty was snake bitten by a couple of hard-luck infield singles early on but escaped two different innings with the bases loaded to yield just one unearned run. Leroux struck out six Bats over six innings of work to improve his record to 5-4. Danny Barnes also made his Triple-A debut when he took the bump for Buffalo to start the seventh. The 26-year-old punched out a pair as he retired all six batters that came his way. "He looked sharp and threw strikes," summed up Allenson post game. "It was very exciting. What a difference 24 hours makes," said 26-year-old native of Manhasset, NY. "It was a lot of fun." The Blue Jays' 35th round pick in 2010 has posted a 1.01 ERA over 35.2 innings while earning a save as a reliever for the Double-A Fisher Cats. The Herd added another to complete the scoring in the seventh when Montero drove in his third RBI of the night, bouncing a ball through the left side of the infield to cash in David Adams from third. BISONS NOTES: Prior to Wednesday's action, the Blue Jays traded pitcher Wade LeBlanc to the Mariners in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later. The left-hander was 7-2 for the Herd and led the International League with a 1.71 ERA…Danny Barnes was promoted from New Hampshire to fill the vacant roster spot…David Adams has a hit in 26 of his last 30 games and is now batting .292 on the year…As part of the festivities leading up to the NHL draft, top prospect, Auston Matthews, threw out the opening pitch. http://i.imgur.com/OCOgeNa.png http://i.imgur.com/kgcCkHx.png http://i.imgur.com/Yqdo8Y8.png http://www.milb.com/assets/images/3/5/0/120364350/cuts/Dwight_Smith_Running_1_ged5ins0_eo5nyf48.jpg Dwight Smith Jr. ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats tied the game late with a homer but gave up a critical eighth-inning home run Wednesday afternoon, falling 2-1 to the Erie SeaWolves at Jerry Uht Park in Erie. The Fisher Cats (31-40) suffered their 40th loss of the year, mustering only three hits and drawing just one walk. The SeaWolves (32-42) avoided a sweep at the hands of the visitors, despite allowing New Hampshire to tie the game up in the seventh inning. All three games in the series were decided by just one run apiece. Erie opened the scoring in the bottom of the first against New Hampshire starter Shane Dawson. Connor Harrell singled with two outs, and moved to second on a walk drawn by Jason Krizan. Dominic Ficociello punched a single through the middle, scoring Harrell and giving Erie the 1-0 lead. New Hampshire equalized in the top of the seventh, as Dwight Smith, Jr. hammered a solo homer off Erie starter Myles Jaye to tie the game at 1-1. However, in the bottom of the eighth, Harrell slammed his own home run off of Fisher Cats reliever Murphy Smith (L, 3-3), and Joe Jimenez retired the side in order in the ninth for Erie. Dawson took a no-decision, allowing one run on four hits and three walks over five innings; he fanned three. Murphy Smith took the loss, surrendering one run on two hits and a walk over three innings against four strikeouts. The Fisher Cats will open up a three-game series against the Harrisburg Senators on Friday. First pitch from Northeast Delta Dental Stadium is at 7:05 p.m., and Bob Lipman and Tyler Murray have the call starting at 6:45 p.m. on the Fisher Cats Radio Network. Leblanc was likely never going to get a chance here and if the Mariners are giving him an opportunity to start in the majors you let him do it.

http://i.imgur.com/eYGLnXN.png http://i.imgur.com/kqJLcBb.png http://i.imgur.com/rOyzaDL.png Matt Dominguez put the Bisons on the board in the third inning with his second grand slam in as many home stands, helping the Herd to a 6-3 win over the Louisville Bats at Coca-Cola Field on Tuesday. With the bags juiced, Dominguez took Robert Stephenson's full-count offering and promptly deposited it over the 371 sign in left-center field. "His been our best player so far," said manager Gary Allenson. "He saved a run for us too in the seventh." The third baseman made a brilliant, diving backhanded grab along the third baseline to keep Jermaine Curtis from scoring in what was becoming an increasingly close contest. Buffalo made it a 6-0 game in the fourth when a free pass to Casey Kotchman was followed up by David Adam's first home run of the campaign. But that's when Bisons' pitcher John Anderson, in his second career Triple-A start, ran into some trouble. The 27-year-old gave up just two hits over four innings before allowing Louisville to bat around in the following frame. "Anderson did a decent job till the fifth inning. Fortunately he got out of that jam and the bullpen took over," noted Allenson postgame. "He bent but didn't break." The Bats used four singles, a double and a walk to trim the Herd's lead to 6-3 in the top of fifth. Anderson, however, ended both the inning and his night with a strikeout of Carlos Truinfel -- the lefty's second punch out of the game. "I was just trying to command the ball down in the zone. When my fastball is down it gets a little sink, and that results in a lot of ground balls," said Anderson. "I was just happy to get through five and give the team a chance to win. Every guy in the bullpen throws hard and throws strikes and gets guys out. So if you're handing the ball off to those guys, it's pretty much game over." Ben Rowen, Aaron Loup, Bo Schultz and Ryan Tepera each fired an inning of shutout relief to secure the win, holding the bats to just one hit over the final four frames. The victory was Anderson's first at the Triple-A level as two Tommy John surgeries and a fractured elbowed have slowed down his progress over the last six years. "I've worked my tail off to get to this point in my career. I'm trying to do everything I can to stay up here. I just want to play here for as long as I can." BISONS NOTES: With his bases-loaded blast, Matt Dominguez becomes the first member of the Herd to hit two grand slams in a season since Matt den Dekker last accomplished the feat in 2012. Dominguez is also the first to hit two slams at home in the same year since Chris Clapinski belted three of his four grand slams at Coca-Cola Field in 2004…David Adams became the 13th Bison to hit a home run in 2016…Buffalo hits the halfway mark of the season at 38-34, four wins ahead of 2015. http://i.imgur.com/etwuTGX.png http://i.imgur.com/eF0sBgu.png http://i.imgur.com/1MYIT76.png http://i.imgur.com/fo30pl0.png http://www.milb.com/assets/images/0/2/4/179739024/cuts/SmithSwing_m5m1l75x_ae31j17m.jpg Dwight Smith Jr ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA - Christian Lopes rapped a career-best four hits and Chris Smith racked up six strikeouts as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats won a 5-4 nail-biter over the Erie SeaWolves Tuesday evening at Jerry Uht Park in Erie. New Hampshire (31-39) picked up their second straight win after losing five of six to begin the longest road trip of their season, scoring in the first inning and never trailing. The SeaWolves (31-42) lost a one-run game despite having the tying run on base for the second consecutive day. Smith's six strikeouts were a career-high for him. The Fisher Cats started the scoring in the top of the first inning against Erie starting pitcher Cory Riordan (L, 4-6). Jason Leblebijian cracked a one-out double, and moved to third on a single by Dwight Smith, Jr. Ryan Lavarnway lifted a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Leblebijian. Rowdy Tellez then doubled Smith to third, and Matt Dean laced a single through the right side to give the Fisher Cats the 2-0 lead. New Hampshire added another in the top of the third, when Dean doubled home Smith to make it 3-0 New Hampshire. Erie got on the board in the bottom of the third against Fisher Cats starter Jeremy Gabryszwski (W, 5-3), who walked leadoff man Kody Eaves. Grayson Greiner took advantage immediately, doubling home Eaves and trimming the lead to 3-1. The teams traded scoring frames again in the fourth. New Hampshire got a run when Lopes singled to lead off the frame, and moved to third on a single by Shane Opitz. Roemon Fields bounced into a fielder's choice, with Lopes scoring to give New Hampshire the 4-1 edge. In the bottom of the frame, Jason Krizan rapped a one-out double, and advanced to third base on a wild pitch by Gabryszwski. Dominic Ficociello walked, and Casey Frawley singled Krizan home. With two outs, Greiner knocked his own single to the outfield, scoring Ficociello to cut the New Hampshire lead to 4-3. The Fisher Cats got a critical insurance run in the top of the seventh inning. Leblebijian led off with a single, swiped second, and came in with one out when Lavarnway singled through the middle on new reliever Ruben Alaniz to push New Hampshire's lead to 5-3. In the bottom of the eighth, Erie came very close on New Hampshire, as reliever Tim Mayza walked leadoff man Connor Harrell before a passed ball by Lavarnway moved Harrell to second. Krizan took advantage singling home Harrell to cut it to 5-4. However, reliever Chris Smith came on and struck out the side to keep New Hampshire in the lead, staying on through the ninth to secure the win. Gabryszwski earned the win for New Hampshire. The righty pitched five innings, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks while fanning one. Brady Dragmire dealt 1.2 frames of strong relief, surrendering one hit and striking out two. Maya gave up a run (unearned) on one hit and one walk in one-third of an inning of work. Chris Smith earned the save with two shutout frames of relief; he struck out six (matching a season-best by any Fisher Cat reliever) and allowed one hit. The Fisher Cats will try to earn the sweep Wednesday afternoon, with lefty Shane Dawson starting for New Hampshire against Erie right-hander Myles Jaye . First pitch from Jerry Uht Park is at 12:05 p.m., and Ben Gellman has the call starting at 11:45 a.m. on the Fisher Cats Radio Network. http://i.imgur.com/AO0ZEt7.png http://i.imgur.com/l1zCCgB.png http://i.imgur.com/qSxbi8M.png http://www.milb.com/assets/images/5/5/8/140211558/cuts/_13_Conner_Greene_1_web_fccpkujd_h9yp9vav.jpg Conner Greene DUNEDIN, FL - RHP Conner Greene (W, 4-4) turned in his best performance of the season and received backing from his offense in the Dunedin Blue Jays' (32-36) 6-0 win on Tuesday night against the Brevard County Manatees (23-44). Greene fanned a season high seven over seven innings taking a no-hitter into the sixth. The Jays' poured it on Manatees' starter RHP Eric Hanhold (L, 2-8) who allowed 11 hits over his four innings. Dunedin put runs on the board in each of those frames, including a solo home run in the second from C Jorge Saez. DH Ryan McBroom collected three hits with a pair of RBI-doubles. RF Jonathan Davis doubled in a run in the sixth inning as one of his three hits. With the Jays' offense out to an early lead, Greene was free to pepper all parts of the zone, working in his secondary pitches more than he has in any other start this year. He trotted out for the sixth, facing the minimum without allowing a hit before C Dustin Houle led off with a double. Greene worked in a pair of double plays to end his final two innings. The final two stanzas were handled by a pair of Major League rehabbers. LHP Franklin Morales and LHP Brett Cecil each tossed hitless innings. Morales walked and struck out a batter while Cecil k'ed two to end the ninth. The Jays' look for a sweep of Brevard County on Wednesday afternoon in an 11 AM Camp Day start. RHP Chris Rowley will oppose LHP Kodi Medeiros. http://i.imgur.com/5bEmu2H.png http://i.imgur.com/f9ivpIt.png http://i.imgur.com/g1s0BDx.png http://i.imgur.com/iIjXDov.png http://i.imgur.com/uUIFVsv.png Angel Perdomo - Dusty Isaacs - Andrew Guillotte - Juan Kelly - Jon Harris http://i.imgur.com/C2H95iY.png http://i.imgur.com/G6KoYgz.png http://i.imgur.com/HwlnI3E.png http://i.imgur.com/mXhVVfT.png http://i.imgur.com/McIHTtA.png http://i.imgur.com/M9rEZP5.png Kings 3 stars of the Night 1) Matt Dominguez: Dominguez went 2/3 with a walk and a grand slam. 2) Cavan Biggio/Christian Lopes: They both went 4/4 with 2 doubles playing 2B. 3) Conner Greene: Greene had one of his better outings of the season going 7 innings with 7 strikeouts, 0 earned runs and 2 walks.
