  8. http://i.imgur.com/U0RodiZ.png http://i.imgur.com/SQ8mnLr.png http://i.imgur.com/dLyNdz9.png The Bisons began the unoffical start of the second half of the 2016 season with a 6-1 loss to the IronPigs Thursday night. The first game of a four-game set from Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, PA saw Lehigh Valley total 17 hits, ten more than the Bisons. Six IronPigs had multi-hit performances, including a three-run home run by J.P. Crawford. Lehigh Valley starter David Buchanan allowed one earned run over 7.0 innings, winning his fifth game of the year. The Bisons and IronPigs are in the midst of seven-straight contests against one another, with the All-Star break sandwiched in between road trips. In his first road game since crashing into the outfield wall in Lehigh Valley on June 18, Bisons' outfielder went 2-4 with a stolen base. Darrell Ceciliani and Domonic Brown also had multi-hit games, with Jesus Montero going hitless, although he walked twice. Lehigh Valley shortstop, J.P. Crawford, took Buffalo starter Wilmer Font deep in the bottom of the third. Crawford, ranked on July 11 as the third best prospect in all of Minor League Baseball by Baseball America, crushed a three-run home run over the right field wall. His third long ball of the year put Lehigh Valley up 3-0. Nick Williams was brought home on a RBI single by Cedric Hunter later in the inning, increasing the IronPigs' lead to 4-1. The Bisons took a 1-0 lead early in the game, their only run against the 'Pigs. A double by Dalton Pompey and single by Darrell Ceciliani to begin the ballgame was followed by Matt Dominguez bouncing into a double play that scored Pompey. IronPigs' starter David Buchanan walked two straight hitters following the double play, but fanned Casey Kotchman to limit the first inning damage to one run. Wilmer Font's rough outing continued in the bottom of the fourth, making it a 6-1 game, when Darin Ruf plated a pair with a two-run triple. Font allowed six earned runs over 10 hits in his second start as a Bison. In his first outing of the season on July 8, also against Lehigh Valley, he allowed two runs over 6.0 innings. David Buchanan faced Casey Kotchman with two on in the sixth, getting the veteran to ground into an inning-ending double play. The Lehigh Valley starter pitched 7.0 innings, allowing one run on five hits, fanning five Bisons. He has allowed four runs in 14.2 innings over two starts against Buffalo this season. Switch-pitcher Pat Venditte relieved Font in the fourth, stranding Darin Ruf on third. He worked into and out of trouble in the fifth, loading the bases with one out, and then striking out J.P. Crawford and Nick Williams. Franklin Morales appeared in his first game for Buffalo since July 8. The rehabbing reliever stranded two runners in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lefty Matt Dermody made his Bisons' debut out of the bullpen in the bottom of the seventh, hurling a scoreless inning. The 26-year old sported a 0.92 ERA in 16 games with the Fisher Cats. J.P. Crawford and Emmanuel Burris both finished the day 3-5 for Lehigh Valley, while Nick Williams and Max Stassi each notched two hits, with a double a piece. Reliever Luis Garcia sealed the win for the IronPigs, as David Adams ended the game by grounding into a double play. Game two of the Herd's four-game series in Allentown will take place on Friday, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. Buffalo's Chris Leroux will be opposed by Jake Thompson. BISONS NOTES: It was announced before Thursday's game that Blue Jays' second baseman Ryan Goins will join the Herd on a MLB injury rehab assignment. Goins was placed on the disabled list on July 2 with a forearm strain, and previously played with the Bisons from 2013-2015… While Matt Dermody was called-up to Buffalo, pitcher John Anderson was sent to Double-A New Hampshire… Dermody becomes the first Iowa Hawkeye to play for the Bisons since first baseman Tim Costo in 1996… Tony Sanchez's 23-game on base streak ended, as he went 0-3… Darrell Ceciliani has knocked a hit in 14 of his last 17 games… Dalton Pompey's two-hit game was his first multi-hit contest since he went 3-5 against Rochester on June 9. http://i.imgur.com/59cgUDf.png http://i.imgur.com/nzGbbFk.png http://i.imgur.com/NqT0wdg.png http://i.imgur.com/zBY3KVg.png Portland, ME - Christian Lopes singled to start the tenth inning and scored the winning run when Portland misplayed a Roemon Fields bunt in the Fisher Cats 6-4 win at Hadlock Field. New Hampshire had a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning when a thunderstorm stopped play for an hour and 39 minutes. Portland scored a run in the ninth after the delay, forcing extra innings. John Anderson (3-5) allowed a single and a walk in the bottom of the tenth before recording three consecutive outs, including a strikeout of Yoan Moncada, to end the marathon at 12:17 a.m. The Fisher Cats (41-49) scored twice in the top of the first inning. Jason Leblebijian hit his fourth home run for the first run. Rowdy Tellez singled, stole second and scored on a single by Dwight Smith Jr. to make it 2-0. Portland (32-58) scored its first run in the bottom of the fourth inning on a solo home run by DH Tim Roberson. New Hampshire scored two more runs in the top of the fifth inning to open a 4-1 lead. Ian Parmley bunted for a single and moved to second on an errant pick throw. Christian Lopes doubled as Parmley scored. Lopes then scored on a double by Tellez off Portland starter Mitch Atkins. The Sea Dogs cut the lead back to a run in the bottom of the sixth inning. With reliever Brady Dragmire taking over for starter Taylor Cole, Andrew Benintendi walked and Cody Decker homered to make it 4-3. Wil Browning recorded five consecutive outs, including two with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh before pitching a perfect eighth. In the bottom of the ninth, reliever Chris Smith walked Tzu-Wei Lin before the rains came. Anderson took over after the delay, walking Moncada and allowing Mauricio Dubon a bunt single. Andrew Benintendi's groundout tied the contest. In the 10th, Lopes singled and Fields bunted in front of the plate. Portland threw the ball wide to first as Lopes scored and Fields wound up third, scoring on a sacrifice fly by Leblebijian against losing pitcher Taylor Grover (1-2). Taylor Cole started for the Fisher Cats, allowing one run in five innings. He allowed five hits, walked one and struck out four batters. The series continues on Friday night at Hadlock Field. The Fisher Cats will turn to RHP Conner Greene (1-1, 8.68) and Portland will start RHP Kevin McAvoy (5-4, 7.81). Coverage with Bob Lipman begins at 6:45 p.m. on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network and online at www.nhfishercats.com. LF Chris Colabello drove in a run with a second inning double to the opposite field, going 1-for-4 on the night. RHP Sean Reid-Foley endured his worst outing of the season, allowing six earned runs over 5.2 innings. With the Jays down 1-0 in the first, 1B Ryan McBroom doubled home a run to tie the game. The Jays took the lead an inning later on three separate RBI-hits, including Colabello's double to make it 4-1. With two outs in the top of the third, Bradenton came right back to tie the game at four with C Elias Diaz's three-run home run. Reid-Foley surrendered two more runs in the fifth which gave Bradenton and starter RHP Buddy Borden a 6-4 lead, but the Jays countered in the bottom half. In a one run game and McBroom on third, C Danny Jansen's ball four pitch bounced to the backstop, sending McBroom home. The Jays' first baseman was able to evade a tag on a play at the plate to tie the game. Two batters later, 3B Dickie Joe Thon grounded out to second, but the Jays plated the go-ahead run. After setting down four batters in relief of Reid-Foley, LHP Jose Fernandez (L, 0-1) came out to pitch the eighth. He allowed a single to Diaz followed by a walk to 1B Jerrick Suiter. A sac bunt and intentional walk later, RHP Carlos Ramirez (BS, 1) came in with a one run lead. He struck out RF Michael Suchy for the second out, but 3B Wyatt Mathisen jumped on a first pitch fastball, doubling to the left field corner and scoring all three runs. RHP Sam Street (W, 1-0) came in for the final three innings and did not allow a hit for the Marauders to earn his first win of the season. The Jays work their way back to even the series on Friday night. RHP Justin Shafer opposes JT Brubaker with first pitch at 6:30 pm. http://i.imgur.com/oJmnaOG.png http://i.imgur.com/usdO8pM.png http://i.imgur.com/zURoKeu.png PEORIA, Ill. - The Peoria Chiefs (11-10, 51-40) swept the Lansing Lugnuts (14-7, 50-41) in a remarkable doubleheader on Thursday night, walking off with a 3-2 win in Game 1, and prevailing 1-0 in Game 2 despite getting no-hit by Jordan Romano and Josh DeGraaf. In the nightcap, the Lugnuts tossed just their second no-hitter in team history - their first occurred on April 20th, 2003, in a 15-0 home win against the Dayton Dragons - but fell victim to a sixth-inning rally involving a leadoff walk to Craig Aikin, a sacrifice bunt that resulted in a DeGraaf fielding error, a fielder's choice and an Eli Alvarez sacrifice fly. Starter Romano (Loss, 1-1) tossed five innings, striking out five batters, before leaving in the sixth due to precautionary reasons after issuing his second walk. Peoria starter Jake Woodford countered with four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and a walk. Gerwuins Velazco (Win, 2-1) pitched the fifth and sixth, and Tyler Bray (Save, 6) completed the three-hit shutout with a perfect seventh. Ryan Hissey, Austin Davis, and John La Prise each singled for the Lugnuts in the losing cause. In the opening game, 20-year-old Chiefs right-hander Sandy Alcantara brought a 2-0 lead into the seventh inning, only to see the Lugs rally for the game-tying runs on an RBI grounder by Jake Thomas and a throwing error by third baseman Dylan Becker. In the bottom of the seventh, with Carlos Torres at second base and Andrew Case (Loss, 0-1) on the mound, Magneuris Sierra sent a grounder to the left side of the infield. Third baseman Carl Wise initially attempted to make the play before dodging baserunner Torres. Shortstop J.C. Cardenas's subsequent throw escaped first baseman Juan Kelly, and Torres scored the game-winning run amid Lugnut protests of interference. Peoria reliever Steven De La Cruz (Win, 4-1) picked up credit for the victory after recording the final out in the top of the seventh, stranding the bases loaded. In a no-decision, Lansing starter Ryan Borucki struck out six batters in five innings, allowing seven hits and two runs. He was followed to the mound by Dan Lietz, who pitched a perfect sixth. The series finale between the Lugs and Chiefs is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Eastern on Friday at Dozer Park, pitting All-Star left-hander Angel Perdomo (2-3, 2.71) against Peoria right-hander Juan Perez (3-1, 3.57). The Lugnuts return to Michigan's state capital on Wednesday, July 20th, opening up a six-game homestand against the Clinton LumberKings and the Kane County Cougars. Hawks starter RHP Erick Julio was strong over his five innings picking up his 2nd win of the season, scattering just five hits and striking out three. Boise reliever RHP Christian Talley went two scoreless innings, striking out three of the six batters he faced before giving the ball to LHP Dan Koger (1.0IP) and RHP Alec Kenilvort (1.0IP) to secure the victory, with Kenilvort giving up the only run of the game, a solo home run off the bat of Vancouver DH Jacob Anderson in the top of the 9th inning. Canadians RHP Luis Sanchez absorbed the loss despite going five productive innings, allowing just four hits and a pair of runs to fall to 0-2 on the season. Vancouver 2B Cavan Biggio was 0-for-4 for the second straight game, while 1B Christian Williams and 3B Bryan Lizardo were also 0-for-4 on Thursday night. With the loss, Vancouver falls to 14-13 (.519) while Boise improves to 10-17 (.370) through 27 regular season games. The Canadians drop to one and a half games back of top spot in the North Division as Tri-City was still on the field against Eugene as this release was prepared. Vancouver and Boise play game three of this five-game series on Friday, July 15th at 7:15pm (6:15pm pacific) with RHP Andrew Ravel getting the ball with hopes of getting the Canadians back to its winnings ways. http://i.imgur.com/5nJv8UE.png http://i.imgur.com/sFRaz5l.png http://i.imgur.com/mxT7dbc.png BLUEFIELD---The Princeton Rays rolled over the Blue Jays 10-6 after scoring 8 unanswered runs, including five in the bottom of the 9th. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. stood out despite the heartbreaking loss. The 17-year old went 4 for 5 with two doubles, a triple and his third home run of the season. He rattled in 3 RBIs to make it 19 on the season, which leads the team. Jose Nova, who started for the Blue Jays, gave up no runs in 5.0 IP and racked up 5 K's. The series finale will be played tomorrow at Bowen Field. Seriously. he bounced 4 pitches about 50 ft then another 5 pitches went over the batters heads and into the backstop. I wouldn't have let Altherr hit against him. He came close to taking 1 to the head. Ortiz was taking 2 steps back at release. he was bouncing them to Moniak. 9. Off the top of my head I'll go with Michael De Leon, Rangers SS
  10. It's not even that accurate. The latest post in Around Baseball is about Dylan Bundy starting on Sunday. Not thread worthy. The latest discussion in the General blue jays discussion thread is about the long allstar break. Once again not thread worthy. Those threads are made for people to post non thread worthy stuff freely without an issue. And when something worth discussion happens its usually made into a thread. Look at the front page. Red Sox acquire Pomeranz. Ortiz going to be fined for tampering. Fangraphs trade value. Extend Dickey. If people want to make threads on which Blue Jay eats mayo with their pasta, be my guest. I don't think its really worth complaining about. The mods should remove all the "General" threads for week and see what happens. Around Baseball, Prospects thread, General discussion etc. all gone.
  11. It's not hate. He's just been terrible. Easy DFA candidate if we need to make room on the 40
  12. It won't be when EE signs with the Red Sox
  13. Found MJ.
  14. Sounds like you would prefer reddit.
  15. Predict the Brady Dragmire DFA date?
  16. It was on multiple scout guns.
  17. Vlad Jr is 3/3 with a double and a home run
  18. No it was Zeuch. And Zach Jackson. Rob Fai ‏@RobFaiNation 1h1 hour ago Updated Rotation - back to five-man... Thurs: Sanchez Fri: Ravel Sat: Zeuch Sun: Rodriguez Mon: Murphy. @vancanadians I wonder if Maese is moving up? Not listed in this rotation.
