With all the data we have on exit velocities, I find it hilarious that people still get mad at players for trying to hit the ball as hard as they can. Because why would you take a home run cut when you can hit a soft ground ball up the middle?

There are no young prospects that are ready. The New Hampshire rotation of Greene/Rios/SRF/Harris has been rather bad.

Latos was the top depth SP free agent signing in the offseason so he was going to get his chance when an injury came. Lawrence there must be a lot of player dev people pushing his case. I don't know why because he's terrible.

His xFIP is 2.88. Pretty unlucky start for Latos.

There's nothing to argue. His velo dropped and he lost his effectiveness. It happens to every pitcher. Injuries may have played a role too.

Yeah I don't think he's that great of a prospect. He does throw 90-93 as SP. But he has a decent amount of youth and pitchability on his side, so maybe he could carve out a role as a depth/#5 SP.

He has a 9.6 SwStr% (league average 10.4). For reference, SRF is sitting at 10.8, Jon Harris at 13.4, and Conner Greene at 7.2 (woof).

Projections have them as the same: hot garbage. It is very difficult to be worse than Salty was in his short time here though.

Danny Jansen continues to impress...towering HR to left and a great job of handling T.J.'s slider...blocks everything. Vicuna doesn't look out of place at SS, especially with the glove but I think he is just place-setting until Gurriel is healthy. Pentecost caught 9 innings on Friday, didn't play yesterday and 1st tonight. Not sure why he isn't catching more but I think his bat could play at 1st...guy also has some speed..almost beat out a routine grounder to short. DJ Davis is a good release candidate at this point. I'd take him in the first round in a MiLB releases pool.
