  1. the Jays let Jay Jackson go. He didn't make the team and was released per agreement.
  2. Thoughts of Frank Thomas for the Tank.
  3. probably a few roster moves within 24 hours.
  4. Think of some big first basemen that can field.
  5. That guy should be called something like "Tank".
  6. THE most likely lineup for 2023.
  7. Some people say to only look at the stock value to see if they lose money. I say they didn't.
  8. It's not shady accounting, it's just cost-allocation and it's very legal to do. The shadiest accounting is done by the teams with salary caps. You wouldn't believe how easy it is to mess around with those.
  9. Don't know if this has been posted elsewhere but Pat Tabler is moving to the booth in Cleveland. So I guess that makes him Bob Uecker/Harry Doyle?
  10. Totally agree. White starts on the IL and gets stretched out a bit and Pearson takes the longer role.
  11. I'd add Capra as well. He made the roster before, he might again.
  12. I saw most of the game, his location seemed a bit better. Yes he was facing a horrible lineup and it had some impact. In the first inning his pitches seemed to suggest a walk but the hitter gave him a strikeout. He looked better in the 2nd-5th.
  13. Plays like that are fantastic to watch.
  14. that was out by a mile. Not a good attempt.
  15. First inning not bad. 3 K's. According to Buck: just have to work on his fastball location. That seems to be the case.
  16. If he sucks and needs re-working then I bet we sign Chris Archer and try to make it work with everyone.
  17. Mop up work in the outfield, pinch run for Belt. Not much more than that.
  18. Yep! If we have KK/Springer playing a lot of innings that don't matter, then he'll break down. They've only got so many innings in them. If we're up 5 runs do you really want them busting out in the outfield?
  19. Following that idea, I wonder if it would make sense if Lukes gets some roster time and if we face a couple of lefties, then we swap him for Lopez and allow Lopez to play some at Buffalo. Lukes' job would be to just come in for one of KK/Springer whenever we have a lead.
  20. I could see the bench coming into play a lot after about the 7th inning: pinch running for Belt and substituting for KK and Springer. Lopez and Lukes could do it. Barger probably has a role as a starter and should spend time in Buffalo. He could be the starting 3b after next year. Horwitz has no defensive use. So I think it comes down to Lopez and Lukes or a trade.
  21. I think there will be some management with KK, Springer and Belt which will mean using bench players more often. Lukes would be more reliable in CF. If he were a switch hitter he'd be the easy favorite.
  22. Lukes is getting reps in CF -- would probably be the best defensive 4th OF. I'm thinking Lopez but if they want a real OF then Lukes.
  23. Wynton Bernard returned to Buffalo, Addison Barger optioned. So it's looking like either Lukes or Lopez as 26th man. Unless someone comes available from another team.
  24. the offence is really sleeping these days.
  25. Pearson looks FILTHY. Love it.
