  1. Pentecost, Nessy, Jensen if you include catchers for IF. Matt Dean is intriguing as well, has insane bat speed.
  2. What the flying f*** did this thread turn into.
  3. Could always use EE as your DH and use Lind and Mayberry at 1st vs RHP and LHP respectively. It's not like EE is some amazing defensive 1B, he's worse at it than Lind is and it's not a terrible platoon to have.
  4. Could also be greed. I feel like a second Toronto team would also sell out a huge portion of the time.
  5. Between scheduling concerts, hockey and basketball I don't see how they could run a second team there.
  6. Someone should tweet him JFaS articles, let him now he wasted his time.
  7. The rumoured NHL expansion and re-location team locations for 2017 are Las Vegas, Seattle, Toronto (second team) and Quebec City so it makes sense for another hockey arena. This scheduling is probably because of how s*** the winter was last year and this year is expected to be equally as bad if not worse. Too many snowed and rained out games.
  8. Pretty historic season in that regard, 2 of the top 5. I really wonder what Phil Hughes changed this year (I can't remember what he said he was doing different) to really not walk anyone. Looks like he scrapped this slider and is fastball cutter 85% of the time with 10% curves and the odd sinker and change thrown in.
  9. I really wonder how much Beeston and Rogers dictate what AA can actually do. It will be interesting to see what occurs with Beeston gone. If it's more of the same it's time to cut your ties and see if you can't poach the assistant GM in Oakland. From what I've read he seems to be a guy who will be a GM sooner rather than later.
  10. I knew Phil Hughes was having a good season for the Twins, I didn't realize how good. 5.3 fWAR, 0.75 BB/9IP. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=7450&position=P
  11. Porter and Luhnow were arguing since the Draft in regards to Bo wanting more input and Luhnow not wanting it.
  12. He just needs to be activated off the DL, doesn't need to create 40 man roster space for him like Norris or Pompey would. Thankfully we have a lot of crap we can DFA and not worry about, I'm looking at you Mastrionni, Colt Hynes, etc.
  13. Janssen, Cecil, Loup, Dickey and Mark B (if they've both passed waivers) and Rasmus should all be moving, if they've passed waivers that is.
  14. Hey now, lay off the beard hate even if Lind's is stupid and Dickey doesn't do good neck or cheek lines.
  15. Selling high might be the best thing we can do, but dammit do I love ground ball machines. I'd really like to see what he can do.
  16. I'd assume a lot of that has to do with the childhood issues. Yeah it's a long time but mentally he probably never really recovered. I don't mind how Dickey talks, a lot of people are as verbose as he is, they just know when to dumb down their speech to play to the lowest common denominator.
  17. Isn't Alcantara their CF right now? I'm also sure Junior Lake (though he hasn't been great) could slot into CF. They have the depth in the minors for CF but it's a few years away.
  18. As I understand it they plan to blow a wad of money on pitching.
  19. I still remember the days of f***ing Godfrey resigning Vernon Wells to that 7/126 deal instead of allowing JPR to trade him to the Dodgers for the rumoured Matt Kemp and Chad Billingsly package, good time.
  20. I can understand it when guys are 21-22, their bodies are starting to get to the point where their done growing, don't baby them. I'm fine with babying the 16-17-18 year old guys.
  21. If I can talk Pirates I'd join that sleep over, sounds lovely.
  22. I honestly feel like with Sanchez it's because he's not throwing 80+ pitches. Even the games when he approaches 30 his command goes. I really feel like he's not going to stick as a starter because of that (though I hope I am wrong). I see him ending up in the back of the bullpen.
  23. My thoughts on the matter. Don't allow pitchers to walk around the mound during at bats and don't let batter adjust their s*** continually. If a manager comes out to challenge it must be done instantly, no waiting for confirmation -> give them 2 challenges per game. They can still come ask for confirmation for things but not a challenge if they did not signal right away. Have a dedicated two man team for every game for replay analysis. No more huge waits, if they see a challenge they can start reviewing instantly before headsets are even on. As far as the season goes I'd say you could shorten the schedule 14 games (to 148 per season) and increase the first wild card series to a best of 3. I know a lot of Canadian's (and I think it's stupid) want to see more play off teams. I think a lot of other sports do it wrong. If 50% of the league is good enough for the post season you should have two leagues with the champion teams in each league in one league and the s*** teams in another. People complain about how long the baseball season is but f***, hockey runs from October to June, it's insane that people don't complain about that.
  24. I see this team either streaking and winning 26-27 of the next 40 or busting badly and winning 14-15 games. If we lose I hope beyond all hope that the Jays fire AA and Beeston.
