  1. I like watching Bichette when he’s healthy, he’s a fun hitter. Guerrero if he didn’t make me feel so sad would be fun to watch as well. Casual fans love Guerrero and think he’s some star player instead of a player who hits like a short stop and plays first base.
  2. Guerrero hasn’t been a problem. He’s the 6th best 1B by wRC+ and WAR in baseball this year. The lack of power is annoying but he’s hitting 25% better than league average in a year where offence is down. Bichette is a problem and he has been for 400+PA and Springer has been an issue as well. We had JT, KK, Kirk though he has looked better, our bullpen in Swanson, Romano, Mayza, Cabrera until recently has also been a big problem.
  3. I imagine so. It’s what the Jays should do with Guerrero and Bichette if we can’t sign either of them as well.
  4. Over the last 6 weeks Roden is slugging over .500. He's been working on mechanical changes to have a more direct bat path to the zone and unlock some power.
  5. I am concerned about Bichette, we're at 398 PA since he came back from the leg injury and the bat has been not good. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/bo-bichette/19612/game-log?position=SS&gds=2023-08-19&gde=2024-10-31&season=&type=0 5.3BB%, 18.3K%, .121 ISO 89.3 EV, 85 WRC+, .245/.289/.366 triple slash. I'm hoping that the leg injuries he had last summer are starting to get in the rear view mirror but things haven't been good for a while.
  6. I think the minimum Guerrero ends up signing is 10/250 if he has two seasons of 3+ fWAR in 2024 and 2025 even if he his more of a 20 home run bat. If he ends up having 140 wRC+ both seasons I think we see more like 300M+. If the right deal comes along no one should be untradeable.
  7. I recall podcasts talking about the ball when they deadened it and someone said they thought Biggio would go from a 20-25hr bat to a single digit one because of how many of is HRs just went over the wall by 5-10 feet, and sure enough he hits a lot of warning track flyballs to RF. In his first 162 games he put up 4.0 fWAR, which was phenomenal and then he had the back injury and the deadened ball and just sort of became useless.
  8. I thought Horwitz would be leading off, it's where he's been hitting in AAA and Schneider hitting lower would be ideal.
  9. From what I’d seen Horwitz doesn’t look bad at 2B. Someone you could keep in for 7 innings and sub in a better defender late in the game. I think Clement could be the odd man out. He’s been bad with the bat, he’s been bad defensively. I know Biggio has warts and can’t play SS but he’s been better with the bat, he’s a better defender so far this year.
  10. If Vladdy can even play a semi passable 3rd I think we see a Horwitz call up and a Biggio option.
  11. I saw that just after posting lol. They did say they need to see how his elbow reacts to rest so who knows if some warning sign might be there.
  12. In good news Peyton Henry was released from hospital. This is great news and I'm hoping he's back out there soon. He was having seizures on the field after the contact so it did not look good.
  13. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if Romano ends up having TJS. Would be a sad way to end his Blue Jays tenure but he's been phenomenal for the team.
  14. Im not going to post the video as I found it uncomfortable to watch but Peyton Henry was hit in the back of the head by a follow through swing and had to be carted off the field while strapped to a back board, game was cancelled after this and he is on his way to a local hospital.
  15. I'm indifferent tot hem which is a massive step up on how I feel about most of them.
  16. Damiano Parmigianaobjjj is on the IL so that makes sense.
  17. Tim Mayza likely shouldn't be in the MLB anymore. Average slider but went from a 94.4 MPH fastball in 2021 to 94, 93.4 and now 91.9 and the run value has gone from 14 to -2 in that frame.
  18. I prefer RA9-WAR for present season results and it's 1.7 to 1.6 for Kikuchi to Berrios. I prefer fWAR more as a barometer about how the next season may go.
  19. I know he doesn't have the plate appearances to qualify but Jansen's Savant page is beautiful. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/danny-jansen-643376?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb Davis Schneider also has a wonderful one https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/davis-schneider-676914?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb
  20. I'm one of the biggest Vladdy doubters out there and I think what he's doing now is basically a mechanical reset and I wouldn't be surprised if by mid June he goes on a heater and hits 5-6 home runs in 8 games. His swing, load, bat path all look a lot better than they have since April of 2022.
  21. Im hoping we see more Danny Burgers against righties and keep Turner for LHP and pinch hitting until the bat comes around if it does.
  22. Off the top of my head without looking into it Alec Bohm but I think he was like 22. Ketel Marte was awful from 17-19 and broke out at 20. Isaac Paredes was pretty rough his first go around. He's young, who knows what he's going through growth wise (physically not tools wise)
  23. Fangraphs gives him 70 Raw Power and 65 Game Power potential but only 40 hit tool. He's also something like 3 years younger than the average age of players in the league and has a .233 BABIP. He's someone I'm not concerned about for a few years.
  24. If Bassitt and Gausman turn it around I'd look to move both as well, Gausman likely has some good trade value if he has 5-6 weeks of being vintage Gausman but with his control he may be worth keeping. Kiermaier might fetch something along the lines of a Santiago Espinal like prospect down the road. If Bichette gets hot and has a good stretch leading up to the All Star Break I'd consider moving him and I'd do the same with Guerrero. If Jansen is open to a long term deal I'd try and sign him but if not I'd trade him.
  25. I think you try and find a contender who might take Springer as a 4th OF if the Jays eat 80%+ of his contract and we get a top 10 and top 20 prospect back. Someone close to MLB ready and someone further away with upside.
