    True, but he'd have to locate it pretty bad to serve it as a meatball. It's a two-seamer running in right? If he ends up aiming for the corner and the pitch ends up in the center, then yeah he's f***ed. But I think those two-seamers are generally aimed outside the strike zone/center so that they move in to paint the corner/inside the RH. Not to mention it's not a straight fastball so it's a bit harder to hit even if you are waiting for it.

    It was voted best pitch too by a long margin, but Alvarez's two seam, Andrew Miller's slider and Jansen's cutter were pretty nasty too.

    Why the f*** is Stoeten considered the gospel around here? I admit his blog used to be pretty good but ever since thescore acquisition he has been an unmitigated fanboy that likes think he is above his followers and is never, ever wrong.

    Examples such as this show that WAR can be flawed when used in specific ways. Don't get me wrong - WAR is probably one of the top 3 best metrics to use, but it's not exactly a gold standard with immunity. No stat is.

    When he says 3rd starter, I hope he means that where he ends up if he doesn't improve on his command. Which I won't mind at all. I just hope he doesn't end up being a 5-inning guy.

    Did they remove Sunday Night Baseball from Rogers? I haven't seen a game and usually it's on sportsnet on Sunday. TSN 2?

    Yeah the offense has done it's job as expected, although we have had slow starts from 3 of our core players (doesn't help that Reyes was out for awhile). Starting pitching lately has improved, and it's crazy how close we have come to putting McGowan in the bullpen, though I feel he is an injury waiting to happen It's just that f***ing bullpen. But we can't do anything about it, really. There really isn't any option in the minors that can replace any of the three long-relievers in the pen. Unless you want to keep Stroman in there and call up Sanchize >_>

    With that rationale, no one should ever doubt relievers since they typically get no less than 60 innings a season. Don't hide the fact that Santos has been utter s***.

    I get the feeling Buehrle actually doesn't like pitching and just views it as a job I recall another famous pitcher saying a few years ago he's actually not a fan of baseball. I think it was Greinke? Can't remember.

    Since I'm a bandwagon fan and I haven't watched a game since the Minnesota series - what happened to Navarro?

    By the same token, you could have said the same thing about other players who had ended seasons on a high note without sustained success, such as E5, Bautista, Delabar and Cecil.

    My only concern about him is his propensity to give up the long ball. He did that a lot in ST, but then again it's just ST.
