  1. Morrow returning to his 'throw everything as hard as I can' mentality.
  2. You guys make out Sergio Santos like he's Craig Kimbrel. Sorry but he's more like Carlos Marmol.
  3. That's why y'all are so overrating Santos. Getting blinded by all his nasty stuff. Well what's the point if you can't control it? Reminds me of Daniel Cabrera.
  4. Why are you guys so confident with Santos? Yeah he has great stuff but he has no control. His only had two perfect outings so far in 5/6 appearances. He has a whip of 2.00.

  6. If any of y'all regret letting him go, say so now
  7. That doesn't bode well for our bullpen at all.
  8. Morrow's ineffectiveness yesterday with the cold is understandable. But if we're going to play well deep into October, our pitchers need to know how to compensate and play under these type of conditions. Of course though, I don't think anyone would play in a snowstorm - now or in October. Would have been fun seeing what effect a knuckleball would have in the snow. Then again, I would think wind would be more of a factor.
  9. http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/story/?id=449480 "It's not necessarily what I prepared to do but if the phone rings and it's me I'm going to try and get guys out and take it from there," said Happ. "Other than that, I don't have a lot to say about the bullpen role." "I see myself as a starter," said Happ. "I don't think that's any secret. I want to be a starter in the major leagues. That's that."
  10. No, I'm not an armchair GM like some people. Chavez was good enough to be on an MLB roster, but more as a mop-up and the 25th man. Nobody expected him to pitch this well (in only 3 starts). But I bet no one expects you to also make the proclaimation that Ryan Goins will end up as a 3-war player, Justin Jackson ends up being a mid-rotation starter and angrioter being hired as the Dominican pro scout for the Tampa Bay Rays.
  11. Did he sign a 2 year deal? So his time with the Jays is over? An article I read said it was a 2 year deal but I swear it was 3 years/10m
  12. f*** that open umbrella it's not even raining
  13. Don't know if it was posted, but Snider goes derp http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/63817564/v32080093/pitcin-reds-challenge-a-play-in-4th-inning/?query=snider
  14. /notracist I think it general it does hurt to have too many of one ethnic group, especially when they don't speak english or hang out with other teammates It really annoyed me last season when you saw all of the Dominicans together on the bench. It made it look like the team had their own little subgroups of players. I can understand hitters hanging out with hitters and not talking to pitchers, but when you have all the Dominican guys together it does make it seem uncomfortable, don't you think? It's nice that we have Bautista who is the most white-washed out of the group and speaks very fluent English, but it would be nice if they spread out a bit.
  15. Anyone know what the deal is in Seattle and their INF? I thought they had a logjam. What's up with Ackley and the other folks.
  16. The exodus to the Rays board was golden. Didn't we do the same thing a few years ago on the Marlins board (when we used the blue jays message board). We should do this annually
  17. How's his bat speed? Arencibia's vulnerability with the bat was his lack of bat speed, so he had to guess a lot on pitches. It's why he strikes out a lot but hits a lot of homers.
  18. Astros pitcher on Wednesday used substances on the ball: http://blog.chron.com/ultimateastros/2014/04/10/josh-zeid-mum-on-apparent-use-of-spray-before-pitching-on-wednesday/
