  1. Wainwright to get tommy john surgery actually no, but he has an elbow-related issue. Tennis elbow.
  2. You get happy and cheer when the Jays lose? What kind of fan is that? Apathetic?
  3. The Jays are gonna enter the Baltimore series under pressure..doesn't bode well.
  4. Hey, at least we're not the Rays. Or the Red Sox..imagine how those fans feel?! f***, if we won the world series I would have bought season tickets. And the following year, you end up being a s***** team? Unfathomable.
  5. The pitching has been terrible, I don't think that's an overreaction.
  6. thought you said Nick Punto and wondered what the fk are you on about
  7. http://giant.gfycat.com/BouncyEnergeticAurochs.gif gif doesn't do justice, though http://m.mlb.com/video/v33614681/oaklaa-angels-challenge-play-at-plate-in-the-8th/?partnerId=as_mlb_20140611_25748436
  8. A lot of ppl are calling it the greatest play of the year..but I'd prefer something more pure...he did botch the ball initially which set up the great play.
  9. No one wanted to chase his off-speed pitches. Everyone knows why Happ was doing well beforehand - all those fastballs. I keep tellin y'all, but nooope.
  10. this is what happens when Navarro catches Happ instead of Kratz. wtf were u thinking Gibs?
  11. What did I tell you guys? All you have to do now is sit on the fastball. Scouting reports are catching up.
  12. Indeed, his back has been an issue. From what I recall his back issues starting coming up after he was acquired. Before that, his only concern was his torn ab muscle.
  13. He's gonna regress, but on a different table than your average MLB pitcher. If we followed that table he would've been out of baseball by now or in the pen, like LaTroy Hawkins or Oliver of yesteryear. Knuckleball + lack of ligament = completely different regression curve for him.
  14. I hate Dickey as much as everyone but now you're getting biased. You're using the same arguments that the Dickey naysayers were using back then. He didn't have just one good season. He had one stellar season and two good ones(unless you use wins/losses and Cy Young votes as a measure). It was reasonable to expect he'd maintain that. You're telling me 2 top 30 MLB prospects ain't worth a pitcher with 3 staight years of sub 3.7 FIP? Comon
  15. Look beyond the transactions. Utley's knee injuries are nagging injuries. You don't need to go on the DL for those. Google Utley Knee and you'll see how chronically injured his knee is.
  16. Then why don't we do the same about Dickey? What we got was a Cy Young award winner with a special, hard knuckleball who had great numbers against the AL East and domed stadiums. Is it outrageous to expect 2 quality prospects for a player with that pedigree? I know we all would have wanted to trade Dickey by giving up Arencibia & Goins but you gotta give s*** to get s***. Not to mention the transaction was paired with other talent acquisitions, making the trade beneficial for our club due to our all-in approach.
  17. Murderer's Row of Bautista Encarnacion Beltre of course Lind would split that up but still.
  18. I'd like him too, but that guy is a injury risk with his balky knees. He won't last long on turf.
  19. AA said a few weeks back that he is looking for SP, a 3B and/or 2B. Ideally I'd like Lawrie at 3rd but if we have a chance to get a quality 3B for cheap then I wouldn't mind that. Ideally I'd like another Dominicano - Adrian Beltre. But we shall see.
  20. A prospect, and an injured one at that. He can turn into the next Kyle Drabek for all we know.
  21. I wonder at what point will the clubhouse atmosphere suffer to the point that players will start shying away from the 'roadtrip themes' the Rays have. I've always viewed the Rays as a pretty lax, easy going team. But at some point they'll have to start playing seriously.
  22. There are smart and dumb people everywhere. Unfortunately for DJF and Stoeten, he thinks he is above everyone else because he operates the most frequented Jays blog. He never admits he's wrong. To me he's just like Wilner. Someone who doesn't deserve the following he has, and abuses that position to think he's superior. It takes massive balls to admit you f***ed up and are wrong about X, and neither have
  23. Stoenten's opinion has as much value as anyone else's here - s***. He's not a scout, he's a fan of the game. Why do we put him on a pedestal? He's just a dishiveled, bitter man pretending to be a baseball fan. On an MLB note, Machado is going to get 5 games and is planning on appealing. Which makes you question on what grounds he is appealing on. Just shows that his 'apology' was not of heart.
  24. veteran presents? Bautista is more than enough veteran presents for the Jays, and Reyes can be the veteran presents if you want someone with playoff experience. Dickey I guess can be the presents for the pitchers...
