You know even before this tailspin, I still didn't feel comfortable about the team. The rotation is incredibly unreliable and the bullpen is fishy with a mix of dominant performances and scrubs/underperforming relievers. I felt very pessimistic, but I felt that the offense, on average would be enough to compensate, especially with the type of competition (or lack of) in the division. But now the offense is pretending like it's the 2013 Astros!

Stages of denial: 1.) It's OK guys, we're 10 games over 500 2.) It's OK guys, only our hitting is an issue, and we were bound to regress! 3.) It's OK guys, E5 and Bautista are going to heat up eventually 4.) It's OK guys, the Yankees and Orioles are both pretty bad teams overall and will regress 5.) It's OK guys, we may be a .500 team but we can go on a hot streak again! 6.) It's OK guys, we may be 5 games under 500 but we have an easy schedule coming up! 7.) It's OK guys, at least Farrell and Red Sox are worse than us! 8.) It's OK guys, at least we're not the worst team in the division! 9.) It's OK guys, at least we get a good draft pick next year! Seriously though, enough with the "it's OK" ********. At some point the team has to get out of this tailspin. But right now everything is going terribly for the Jays offense right now with no hint at it improving. If we split this series with the Orioles, I'll feel better. But losing 3/4 and I think the team has to admit that they need problems that need to be fixed. I don't want to hear about that BS from Buehrle how we're still OK.

Wallace never was a good prospect. He was a great pick at the time by the Cardinals for his ability to hit and tremendous plate discipline. For whatever reason his plate discipline disappeared and he suddenly became a one-dimensional player. And that one-dimension gradually disappeared in AA/AAA and now he's a scrub in the Baltimore system.

So I guess Cecil is gonna go on the DL? We need another lefty, though..

Let's be honest - Sanchez' weakness right now is his control. I'm not sure there will be a difference in terms of competition for Sanchez in this regard. His stuff is good enough to get guys out in any of those pro leagues. Perhaps they want Sanchez in Buffalo so that he can get some extra coaching there or an easier time for LaCava to get extra looks. If anything, perhaps Sanchez will find Buffalo more difficult due to the plethora of AAAA guys who are willing to lay off that high fastball or slider in the dirt - something It could be a good learning experience, and Sanchez is still young. That being said, Norris > Sanchez and I wouldn't mind trading him away.

Using Mike Wilner s***** projection math, these are the #'s both are on pace for Tanaka - 218 IP, 23-3 Abreu - 52 HR, 35/171 BB/K I never realized how much poor plate discipline Abreu has, considering his power to all fields. He seems to be a one-dimensional player. I'd have to go with Tanaka.
