    afaik the fluctuation in rate does not affect the Jays for several years since they have a locked in rate or w/e

    I guess the sabermetric argument by Donaldson's agents didn't sway the old-school stat preference by the arbitrator. Anyone here want to get a deal for Donaldson that buys out one FA year? Gives cost certainty.

    I hate to be a debbie downer but I have a feeling the Jays won't make it this year - mainly due to injuries, regression and most of all, our bullpen. I should probably head over to the bet thread and put down my playoff tickets..

    newb question angrioter ~ regarding hyped DR players that weren't born from rich families (like baby guerrero) and have yet to be signed.. Who pays for these guys to train? Where do they get all the money for equipment, training, food, lodging, e.t.c.? Primarily buscones? It amazes me how DR is such a poor country, but where do you get all this food and exercise equipment to work these guys up?

    Yup, I was there for his MLB debut. I believe it was against the Angels and he ended up going 5-6 innings.
