    Has little to do with what game we are in...its a problem that has persisted for 2+ years.

    It is, but I think it's much deeper than what we see. Throw a breaking ball or an outside pitch and we score less than 3 runs pretty much every time. We don't use all fields and teams know it and have /will exploit it. We have good hitters that can adjust but dont/are not told to. Part of it is roster configuration (too many RHH) but a lot is just simply bad approach/ recognizing what a pitcher is doing or going to do. Plus we have been really bad at hitting pitches right down the middle in the last year +

    It might be time to find a real hitting coach...not one player seems to have a good approach at the plate and not one really wants to hit the ball the other way except for Travis

    Are you referring to the 2 AMAZING defensive plays....or the 8 LOB?

    AA was bad at that because he traded all the minor leaguers/depth

    Positives seen as the season begins: 1. Offense should be able to score runs in a lot of ways, hopefully a lot less days like today 2. Estrada looked good and hopefully sets the tone for the SP staff 3. Bullpen actually looked decent despite the lack of depth 4. Pillar does have a better approach 5. Pearce looks better than I expected 6. Travis made the opening day lineup 7. Gibby coached well today
