  1. Even if he plays what seems like his 100 games as his norm recently?
  2. I'm actually suprised how well he has started the Spring. A lot better than in years past. Makes me think it was smart to resign him...maybe
  3. Really keeps sounding like Tellez should be up relatively soon in the first month or 2. Also, Pompey should really be considered to be the starting LF if he keeps playing like this for the next month...still a lot of Spring left
  4. Travis is an All Star Pompey becomes a full time starter We have 2 pitchers in CY contention Donaldson wins MVP We win it all
  5. Hoepfully the reasoning for the crutches and staying off of it so it heals completely this time unlike the nagging injury he had last season
  6. So no different than last year for him
  7. It really is. Wasn't he suppose to have one of the worst swings ever? It looks like his swing is more compact than previous reports and he is really quick through the zone even though it is a long swing overall
  8. Is Lourdes Gurriel really going to start in AA? I would have thought AAA given his age and experience...is it because he hasnt played much in a year or so they want to start out at AA?
  9. Next rule: Any ball that doesn't get hit over the fence is an out....and we need pitching machines to save these players arms
  10. Are we still trying to get a 1B?
  11. I think this year with Sanchez he can definitely get better, but it comes down to his strikeout rate. If he can increase that he could probably lower his ERA and increase his WAR...ultimately being in high contention for the CY Young. With Stroman, he needs to lower his mistake rate (is that even a thing lol) and start to refine his arsenal. He was all over the place most of last season (using about 7 diff pitches), which led to the erradic command of his pitches (mistakes giving up runs). If he stays with the pitches he was using at the end of last season he could have a dramatic jump and be a similar type of pitcher that Sanchez was last year. Estrada was pitching the majority of the year with a back problem. If he is closer to 100% this year I would assume he could be even better than how he pitched in the 2nd half of the year. There is some room for improvment at almost all of our starting spots...should be a fun first month to see what types of adjustments everyone has made
  12. I think we will be better. The offense will probably be similar (less HRs but same runs overall I hope), but the pitching I think will be much better. Liriano can match or exceed Dickey's output and I believe Sanchez and Stroman will both be even better this season
  13. The article I read said the White Sox expect a prospect haul for Robertson
  14. Probably you are right. But it was the first example that came to mind and it does show how trading for a player that has won a past award doesn't mean you will be getting that high level of play from them.
  15. Just like the recent Cy Young winner Dickey right? Lol. McCutchen is not worth half of what that article had, especially coming off the year he had, his age, contract, and defensive abilities.
  16. I wasn't meaning that is why he would be replacement level...I was just pointing out that on top of how bad he was this year changing leagues will add another adjustment. The types of pitchers and quality of pitchers don't mean much, but how you are pitched to does change from NL to AL. Also, being less familiar with a certain pitcher does make a difference...is it a big difference, no, but if he doesn't improve on last season he could be dipping further below where he was. Changing leagues will have like a 1% impact on him and might go away fairly quickly. I wouldn't do the trade first of all because even when he was good I just didn't like McCutchen and 2nd...Vlad Jr will be more valuable over the length of his contract vs the 2 yrs from Cutch.
  17. I don't think Pittsburgh would even consider straight up based on some of their reported asking prices. It just reminds me too much of the Dickey deal. Just way too much risk to be dealing top prospects for...
  18. Better value than McCutchen for 2 years...imo
  19. So he sucked last year because.... Edit: in terms to adjusting to 95 mph fastballs. He doesn't have the superstar hit tool anymore and it's obvious
  20. 2 years isn't super far away. McCutchen might not even put up replacement level stats in the next two years especially changing leagues and having to adjust
  21. Would be way worse than the Synder trade...like 100 times worse
  22. Better than Smoak by far. Should be getting playing time over him...but probably won't
  23. So you are sayin he is better than Bautista in the field...got it
