I don't hate any of those players as all, I hate the FO for thinking Izturis, Goins and Sierra are somehow beneficial to a baseball team in any capacity.

I agree with the notion, but how can you really limit a player's ability to negotiate the best contract he can, regardless if he's a cheater or not? Let's say hypothetically, Ryan Braun was only allowed to earn 5 million per year as a penalty for his bust. That's even better for the team that signs him since he's still going to be a pretty decent ball player providing a ton of value on a dirt cheap contract, which benefits the team not only from that contract, but allows them more payroll flexibility to add other players. Basically, no matter what type of monetary penalty might get heaped on a player for steroid use, it would end up benefitting team owners far more than it would be a detriment to the player. If MLB really wants to clean up the game, they shouldn't be focusing on hurting players' wallets only, but hurting owners' wallets as well in some way. If teams were also held at least partially responsible for their players actions, you can bet it would have a much bigger impact. Right now, there's absolutely no downside to a team for having their player busted, other than losing him for the duration of the suspension. -
There's really only 2 now that Gardner was extended. Rasmus and Aoki. And the best part is, most teams will overlook Aoki because he doesn't have the sexy stats, but he's a guy who does everything well with no glaring weaknesses.

The only reason Hayes was a plus was because Casey stuck him out there with 4 starters in the 4th quarter for some additional minutes. Without that he would have easily been -10 or worse.

This should never EVER be allowed. Teams would start spiking their own players when they got too old to be worth their bloated contracts and it would be a get out of jail free card for team's who made bad contract decisions. -

I can actually understand an argument for 5th place for the Jays in the East, but to say that theyre "far behind the other 4 teams" is just stupid. Tampa and Boston are the top tier, Yankees mid and Baltimore/TO next, but the degrees of separation are not HUGE by any means.

That's what the short season leagues are for, to give college picks a place to play without having to disrupt your already playing full season league teams with a bunch of guys that probably have pitch limits for the rest of the season since they've already played a full college season.
