I don't have a problem with him having the green light there, I have problem with him choosing to use it on the pitch that he did, it was a borderline strike that he should have taken -

I agree he's probably a smart guy. He came from a well to do family and was well educated. Baseball IQ though leaves a lot to be desired.

Gose has a rocket for an arm, just not so accurate all the time.

He has a good arm, not a high baseball IQ. He's patient at the plate because he can only hit balls either right over the heart, or middle in, anything else he rolls over for easy outs. A guy with a high baseball IQ would learn how to go the other way and actually make himself a lethal hitter, rather than just a dangerous mistake hitter - which admittedly he is very very good at

Because it's horribly untrue? How does a guy with a high baseball IQ try to steal third with one out down by 5 and a runner on first behind you? And then run himself out of scoring position on a ground ball right in front of him?

Not sure of Lawrie's approach there, he let the first pitch low and away go for a ball, then swings at the next pitch in basically the same spot for an easy out...
