  1. Crafty Farrell going to keep the LHP out there even if he goes to the pen to keep Rasmus on the bench, Bautista in RF and Sierra in RF. Keeps the defense and the lineup worse than they could be.
  2. Wow nice, play by Lester there. Would have been really close if he got that out of his glove cleanly.
  3. Nope, ball 5 has been thrown but he still hasn't been able to walk.
  4. For the love of the FSM, please DFA this clown ....
  5. That explains it, he was clearly looking for something on the inner half, and just got jumpy. Good job on putting the hurt on what he was looking for.
  6. This drives me crazy ... you let the first pitch go for a ball then swing at the next pitch in the exact same spot.... ... just .... Why ? Is he just guessing?
  7. It does help he's got about 10 strikes gifted to him by the ump today.
  8. Yeah... he's going to go off in Fenway too, could be a 30 HR SS in that atrocity.
  9. The 7.5 million for Romero isn't really probative. It just seems that way because of the garbage contracts they've taken on in the meantime and retaining others that should have been traded by now (ie Janssen, Happ) Even if Romero hadn't completely fell off the earth and was a reliable 5th starter, 7.5 million would be a bargain. It's far worse spending the kind of money the Jays have on their bullpen.
  10. Depends if AA and Beeston get canned and they bring in a FO that is actually aware that you can acquire pitching in free agency.
  11. Just checking his stats, he's swinging at fewer strikes(about 2% lower than his career averages), and when he does swing, he's making less contact (about 5% less than career averages). Swinging at 5% more balls out of the zone and making less contact on them by another 5%. HIs overall swing rate is at 50% - appears he's not being as aggressive in the strike zone, and ends up swining more on balls out of the zone. Maybe pitch recognition issues or just not having a solid game plan on what he's looking for.
  12. Nice out by the ump there. 3-0 count vs 1-2 is kind of a big difference
  13. What the s*** was that Lawrie? 3 pitches not in the strike zone and you're out swinging?
  14. Rofl.... Edwin gets s*** on again back to back line drives caught.
  15. It's more the lack of solid contact overall that's the problem.
  16. I meant the first one. Jose is better at hitting balls down than the ones up.
  17. Oh jose, that was your 1 crushable pitch for this AB
  18. Why? He's not good at baseball, he was never even good in the minors so why expect some sort of magic turnaround in the majors?
  19. No kidding, Thole doesn't exactly have a good chance to score on a single so why give up the out...
  20. I'm watching a stream from NESN, they're commenting on how the Jays are sacrificing much more and you don't typically see that from the Jays. Of course they're right, but then they aren't used to seeing a completely useless bottom of the lineup.
  21. Hit an offspeed meatball like he should have. Doesn't mean his overall approach is sound. Lets look at his pitch values this year and you can see why he's struggling so much. FAstball value - -1.5 runs. IN his previous 3 years, +12.6, 6.4 and 7.2. He's also well below his career norms against the offspeed stuff, with the exception of the splitter. Whether his issues are mechanical or approach related, he's getting bad results overall.
  22. That's just it, at least Gose has tools that can help the team. Sierra is a warm body taking up a roster spot. He's bad defensively, bad on the base paths, has no platoon split advantage and minimal power. The only reason he's here is because he has no options and AA doesn't want to lose him as an asset.... though we really just covered... He's not an asset. He's filler. He should never have made the team and by now should be DFA'd. THere's just no excuse to have this clown on the roster.
  23. I'm no expert on body language and facial expressions, but to me it looks like Sierra is about as checked out mentally as you can get. Doesn't look focused at all.
