  2. Call me pessimistic but this is pretty much the same scouting report he had coming out if high school. Great fastball movement with iffy command, imprssive curve and good feel for a change up. 4 years later, same story. I guess the plus side he's probably just one minor adjustment away... But how many prospects can you say that about?
  3. It's all one big cycle. With team shifting more, hitters as a while will have to adjust and become more skilled at using the whole field more often. It will probably take a few years, and there will probably always be guys that come up that are dead pull power hitters, but unless hitters adjust to the latest adjustments of the defense, run scoring will keep going down.
  4. He has to figure it out at AA or there's not much hope for him. Without even passable fastball command you can't survive in the majors.
  5. Guthrie has that 2 seamer really working, hasn't really had much control of his others pitches though. The slider has been s***, fastball is hard but locating badly.
  6. Just cause you bought a season ticket doesn't mean you show up to very game. Even at Fenway there was empty seats and it sells out every game
  7. It would be nice if he touched on topics that haven't already been beaten to death by other baseball media for the past 5 years. Sue, international fpdraft would be ideal but it's not like mlb can just push a button and say that's how it is. A lot of negotiating with other pro leagues has to take place. He also didn't mention Korea or Australia as countries that would need to be included. As for his signing bonus whining... Meh. Spoken like a true career backup.
  8. I wonder about how Loria went about this... Did he call around telling other GMs he was shopping the pick? In this case I don't think he did, because if he did, I'm sure some team would have willing to part with something better than a reliever of his "talent"level
  9. I'm wearing my cheap cowboy hat that I got in a gas station in Salt Lake City for 2.99, just to get in the spirit
  10. Walk up sales must have been pretty big on Saturday and today.

  12. Sold out Sunday against KC ... Not bad.
  13. Just wants the rays to win to halt any Boston momentum and keep them way down in the division. Better for the Jays if the last place team beats the 4th place team.
  14. Looked like a slider to me.
  15. Really want the Rays to win this. Snapping the sox win streak would be great
  16. Ray's catchers can't catch a break. Backup Solis at the plate, odorizzi bounces a curve off the plate, then it bounces off pierzynski's shin guard and back up into Solis's face, might gave broke his nose and gas to leave the game and Molina has to suit up on his night off. Third catcher for Tampa is apparently Sean Rodriguez
  17. Watching the Rays/Sox game. Bogaerts is going to be a f***ing beast....
  18. He gives up his fair share of HR, gives up more than league average of HR/9 and HR/FB. no starting pitcher in baseball has given up more in the past few seasons. A lot of it though is that he's always in the strike zone. I was also being slightly facetious. I like Shields.
  19. I'd rapidly tire of seeing the amount of HR he'd give up in the RC. Though if most are solo shots....
  20. This I agree with, but your reasoning in this thread for it is flawed. Trading Lind should be done because he has no defensive value, is more expensive, and his offense vs RHP is almost duplicated by Francisco(though I think the chance that Francisco will fall off a cliff is higher than Lind...) Having two RHP mashing hitters with limited defensive value just won't work long term, even in a single season, someone will get hurt that neither of them can replace and then they'll be a severe flexibility problem, even worse then there already is.
  21. So did Farrell last year. Why couldn't he win with the Jays if a manager is so important?
  22. I always want a hit... A hit is always better than a walk, even with nobody on(marginal difference between single and walk since due to chance of an error) But making an out is still the most important thing not to do. So unless the not guy up is the pitcher, or Ryan goins, the baseline goal should always be to not make an out. If Goins or the pitcher are up next, hack away.
  23. I agree this team needs a top of the rotation starter, just not sure Price would be the ideal target. If the Mets and Marlins can bend over AA as well as they have, Friedman would probably come away with owning the Roger's Centre.
