It would. You always hear players say later on their careers that when they're a free agent they look for the place they feel has a good chance to win.

High strike zone = death for jays hitters. Uppercut type swings on balls up usually ends up in pop-ups or swinging strikes

Of course. Picking up any options are another discussion entirely depending on how he would have performed.

What's to lose by bringing him back in a pen role this year while still allowing him to try and complete for a starting job next year? If he doesn't win a starting role, back to the pen. Maybe focusing on 1-2 pitches got 1 inning is the way to go. With his velo he could be very effective in that role.
