  1. Why not Masterson on a short term cheap deal? Bigtime groundbller, won't break the bank and has a legit chance to be a bounce-back candidate providing very good value. The fact that he'll likely be looking for a short term deal to re-establish his value is a major plus.
  2. I logged in from my vacation to check on things and I see that pile of crap trade. f*** this, I'm going back to the beach and drown myself in rum.
  3. "“Just trying to find athletes, or up-the-middle guys… I’m asked that a lot but we don’t really look at it that way. It might be limiting for us if we stick to a rigid strategy that is not data-driven. What we’re trying to do with our draft is optimize it. We want to figure out how it’s going to save us the most money down the road and be the most productive for us. The profile of a player that is going to save us money down the road is based on quite a bit of analysis…and it is rarely obvious. It is also a lot easier said than done, because you still have to execute it and hit on certain players. I should add that our strategy being based on saving money in the future doesn’t mean we shy away from the high-upside guys. After all, if they pan out, they would save us the most money of all.” No pigeon holing based on athletes or up-the-middle guys.... data driven.... AA should be taking notes.
  4. I think people are morons. All we hear is how players are boring, never say anything important, just recycle cliche after cliche... Then when a player actually gives an opinion that isn't tired and played out, people jump down his throat and say he should watch what he says. f***ing idiots.
  5. Good compliment
  6. Compared to most on here, that's nothing.
  7. I've got some ideas for next year's contest. Nothing major, just minor tweaks. I'll pm them though
  8. Categories. Best overall poster: dinger Funniest poster:the hurl Best foreign poster:angrioter Best rookie/new poster: we have new posters? Comeback poster of the year: orgfiller Best looking/Most attractive poster: a vote for anyone other than me is a waste of your democratic privilege Best troll: no such thing. Trolls are scum and should be erased from existence Best poster to get banned: no idea Best infrequent poster: also me Thread of the year: that one where the Jays came back from like 10 runs down after 2 innings and in a drunken stupor I told all the trolls to eat a dick. Also... Worst overall poster: firealexanthopoulos -tired schtick Most annoying poster: whoever started the GDT to start the epic losing August
  9. What would you prefer him to say?
  10. Was a Japanese reporter...
  11. Teams generally don't trade for volatile #5 starters when they're readily available in free agency for cheap. Unless you're Alex, then you give away assets for them.
  12. Tha dude who asked about international scouting lobbed a softball.... That question should have been why are the jays letting all their direct competition sign up all the international FA's while they do nothing?
  13. So rotation next year will be the same as this year likely... Dickey, pit bull, Happ, Stroman and hutch with norris, sanchez, Graveman headlining Buffalo.
  14. Looks like Happ is coming back.
  15. No kidding, he'll get 4 at absolute maximum from any team, there no need to even think that him getting 5+ years is a con ern
  16. I don't disagree, I'm just wondering how close or far apart it really was from a value standpoint
  17. Devils advocate, the two pitchers who pitched in his hypothetical spot were MCGowan until sent to the pen and Stroman. or Happ. For the 15 million, would he have provided markedly better value than those guys at their salaries? Who's willing to do the legwork and the comparison for my lazy weekend ass?
  18. Omg zing... How will I ever recover from this.....
  19. No, like all the replacements for those injuries performing like all stars. And eat a dick.
  20. Showalter can suck it. Like everything else this season hasnt gone his way
  21. looks safe, but that's really close. Also looked like catcher was blocking his path....pillar had to take a huge step to the outside on his last stride to get around him
  22. Yes, but the logic that they only want a "watchable" team and not a winning team is false. What logic would there be that? They'd make waaaaaay more money with a winning team. Just because AA s*** the bed with the payroll increase doesn't mean all they want is a watchable team and nothing more...
