    It's also a stat that doesn't differentiate between strikes in the middle of the plate, and those on the edges which you wouldn't want to swing at anyways unless its 2 strikes, so take it with a bit of a grain of salt. I'd be more interested to see individual,players stats on this

    The whole issue with being able to walk away from guaranteed money is that it would open up an easy way for teams to spike their own players supplements just to get out from under a s***** contract they gave out and now want to get rid of when the player inevitably doesn't live up to it. If I was running the Angels and had the option to terminate Pujols albatross by sliding the trainer some cash under the table to swap some of this for some of that... you bet I would. It would be good business. And you're kidding yourself if you don't think it would happen, regardless of how we might like to think that Front Offices would be above that kind of s***. Theyd do it because billions of dollars are at stake.

    My guess is they will keep him in the Gulf Coast league to start out. Usually the Vancouver team gets the college draftees and guys that have already gone through the GCL and/or Bluefield

    Questionable managing by Gibbons has to be in there too. His pen decisions have been pretty bad consistently. I grant that the pitchers haven't performed well but he's left starters in too long, hasn't had arms ready to come in when they're needed and not used the platoon advantage enough.

    Sign me up for that. Gibby used to be good at managing a pen and that was pretty much his only real strength. That's out the window this year so let's cut bait
