  1. Yeah, you could take Acuna plus... like any of 3 or 4 arms from their system and be pretty solid.
  2. Technically they are Co-Champions with the Palm Beach Cardinals because the league final series was cancelled due to the impending hurricane.
  3. Barreto maybe in Oakland? Graveman perhaps...but not like he's a stud, just a steady 4/5
  4. A very fair point when you consider the KRate of pitchers throughout the history of the game. Cy Youngs k/9 career was 3.43 and his best season was 5.89. So many more balls were being put in play back then. But, the mound was higher then and the fences were 5 miles away.
  5. Pretty sure he'll be a deadline trade next year from the way Shatkins talks about him. Very doubtful they trade him in the offseason unless some team backs up the prospect truck, which is in itself, very doubtful
  6. Pretty much. Wife got pissed for me cutting holes in the last ones....
  7. I guess what I was saying is... an 80 hit tool in 1920 probably doesn't compare to an 80 hit tool today. I think Altuve would be the benchmark hit tool these days
  8. Awe come on. I love watermelon and I'm so white I'm practically clear
  9. Was Bonds really an 80 hit tool though? And I'm not sure there's really an accurate system for rating players of the past compared to today... skills wise.
  10. Complete and utter dreaming, but a future core of Alford, Hernandez, Bichette, Vlad, Tellez, Gurriel and Jansen, with Pearson as a legit front end starter....SRF maybe a lights out closer... I'm getting wood just thinking about it.
  11. First ballot... that's for chumps. They'll actually waive the requisite waiting period for HOF eligibility for Vlad JR, just like the NHL did for Gretzky.
  12. For what, watermelon eating contest?
  13. I think it's absurd to suggest 80 hit 80 power ceiling, when there's nobody that's ever had that combo before. Just be conservative, call it 70/70 and move along.
  14. Hoping you mean DH, not DL.
  15. Probably depends alot on how they look in spring training next year. Both probably get a ST invite just to taste the big league camp
  16. He was a given call up since he's on the 40 man the Jays have 0 backup infielders right now.
  17. Vladdy another ho hum 2/2 with a sac fly and walk. Avridge up to.342 at High A
  18. 77 was probably his curve, the mid 80s one likely his slider.
  19. Pearson had his worst outing as a pro so far. 3 ip, 5 k, 3 hits, 3 BB, 2 ER. 73 pitches, 40 atrikes. Maybe working on breaking stuff or his change today
  20. Fixed that for you. And yes, Ichiro is a guaranteed Hall of Famer
  21. CC sabathia might have case in your Ichiro, molina, Verlander category. Though I highly doubt Molina gets real consideration. Russell martin, Brian McCann, Posey, Mauer....all gave superior numbers already, not to mentuo Posada who put up 45 WAR and was a 1 and done on the HOF ballot already. Great defensive catcher but not sure he falls into all time great status.
  22. Nice, snuck into 2nd with a big outing from Cotton! Still got a shot at the top
  23. Might send him to the Arizona fall league for a few more starts
