  1. They always find the weakness....
  2. Manaea Taillon Realmuto Carpenter Arenado Moncada Bogaerts Benintendi Blackmon Yelich And Taillon already in the negative.... oy
  3. When you throw 101 mph, your secondary stuff doesn't need to be pristine to be an effective pen arm. That said.... he did snap some nice sliders, but clearly needs work for consistency His change didn't have have much depth or fade, and they never mentioned how much separation not had from his fastball velo, but needs work for consistency. Think I saw 1 curveball there too, but it was way outside so that's probably just a show-me pitch right now. There was 0 hard contact... just slappy attempts to get a bat on it and really weak contact. That's nice to see. It's SS A ball, but that's what his results should be down there
  4. Kinda like masturbation, just without the payoff
  5. Weird he needs to build up in AAA when he didn't need to earlier in the season, they just had him throw 45 pitches one start, then 60 the next, and 80.... and so on. Wonder why they're sending him down to do that same thing now?
  6. True, but Acuna started the year there, and his numbers have improved at each step up. Had Bichette already taken a similar path at the same age, the comparison would be more apples to apples, but right now Acuna has already proven himself at AAA and AA, Bichette hasn't. Whether it's a product of circumstance or not, Acuna is having a far better year. Cant really hold it against Acuna that hes been promoted faster.
  7. Anyone know anything about Jol Concepcion's stuff? I know he was signed last year when the Jays were under penalties after splurging on Guerrero, and that he's tall with a projectable body, 18 and throwing pretty well in the GCL.
  8. Not sure about a start, but could very well come up for some pen work. He threw 135 innings last year so I'm guessing they'd want him up around 170 after this season and he's just 119 so far after losing that time to injury. New Hampshire has no shot at the playoffs so he probably will come up as soon as their season is over and September callup happen. May even see him in the Arizona Fall League
  9. Looks like it's Acuna's award to lose really. For anyone thinking Bichette is having and amazing year (and he is), Acuna is the same age and in AAA hitting like a beast. To say Bichette is in the conversation is like saying there's two other Rookies that merit consideration for AL ROY alongside Judge. Yes, he's in the conversation... but it's a pretty short one. And no, this isn't a criticism of Bichette, Acuna is just on another planet
  10. You've seen his posts. Don't pretend you don't think the same.
  11. Last things I've read about him say scouts aren't sold on his defense as a catcher. BA doesn't even rank him in the top 10 prospects for toronto in their midseason list. This was 2 months ago from fangraphs Fringe 5 weekly lists when talking about Jansen and he not being included despite strong numbers: Damaso C D.Jansen (22, AA), spent his career at age appropriate levels so far, though his last two years have been savaged by injuries. Gets good marks for his gamecalling and receiving. MILB Career: 882pa, 10.3bb%, 12.7k%, .285babip, 117wrc+ 2017 (A+/AA): 161pa, 6.2bb%, 9.9k%, .398babip, 184wrc+ Carson Cistulli Because catchers don’t move gracefully down the defensive spectrum, but rather tend to plummet all the way to first base, I’ve become progressively more cautious about including them here unless their defensive reputations are beyond reproach. Eric Longenhagen’s assessment of Jansen’s catching skills — or, perhaps, the assessment that he’s relayed from scouts — suggests to me that Jansen’s defense might merit a little bit of reproach. I agree, though, that the offensive skills are promising, and I’m constantly willing to consider new information.
  12. Dude is even below Gary level... and that level is mind-numbingly low. Like.... drooling in a helmet low
  13. You've never heard of the waiver trade deadline have you? Oy this is a whole new level of uninformed stupidity
  14. He won't get the top rankings from publications until he performs at AA, regardless of his stat lines. Scouts who look at his approach and mechanics still have concerns about how it will play against high level competition. He's shut them up so far.... hes only hitting .400 for his minor league career across 3 levels as a 19 year old...but AA will be his true test for those scouts and prospect sheets. I think it's a stretch for the main publications to put him top 10-20 to startvthe season but if he hits at AA to start next season, I have no doubt he'd jump to top 5-10 by midseason.
  15. Osuna's 4 seamer velo for past few years from fangraphs: Seems like it's definitely trending down recently http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfxo.aspx?playerid=13764&position=P&pitch=FA&data=pi And from Brooks baseball showing just 2016 to current http://www.brooksbaseball.net/velo.php?player=532077&b_hand=-1&gFilt=&pFilt=FA|SI|FC|CU|SL|CS|KN|CH|FS|SB&time=month&minmax=ci&var=mph&s_type=2&endDate=01/01/2018&startDate=04/01/2016 Very noticeably down by about 2 mph across all pitches.
  16. They've been scouting Luis Rivera
  17. And to think, that's the kind of play that in previous years the runner would be told to run over the catcher and potentially injure him. It was still plenty exciting without a needless collision.
  18. Thanks for stopping by. See you tomorrow when you get your hour of internet time.
  19. Yup. I'm the one crying. For sure.
  20. Yup, 6 million club option for 2019
  21. Nope. I was radio DJ years back and had to come up with a name for the air on a new station in town because nobody in their right mind uses their real name, cuz of stalkers like Cleveland Steamer up there. Me and another DJ from the station were sitting in Boston Pizza one night brainstorming and eventually came to John Havoc... but I just didn't like the c at the end. I ws big into comics as a kid and remembered Cyclops brother from the Xmen was called Havok.... bada boom.
  22. Excellent. Having your respect would be worse than having AIDS. Carry on.
